It's what's for dinner
Hey wow! I still fucking hate this new posting format! Thanks, LJ!
From
shanmonster comes this nauseating article about a new growth hormone being given to cows. I am so grateful that I have the financial capability to purchase only pastured, grass-fed beef.
Have I mentioned how much I'm enjoying the Restorative Yoga classes at Westside Yoga? The two teachers I've had, Yeshe and Susan, are great. Yeshe is cheerful and expressive and leads wonderful meditations. Susan is calm and maternal and her posture series are highly focused. I haven't taken a class with Becky yet (she and Yeshe trade off Sunday nights). I'm not sure how well I'll do in her classes, honestly. She's very sweet and nice, but she has a high-pitched little girl voice and I think that might not be helpful when I'm supposed to be chilling in a pose. We'll see. I'm keeping up with my morning home practice, so between that and the Westside classes, I'm getting in at least seven yoga sessions a week.
In other news, I am really tired today (no idea why--I slept great last night), and the pain in my left hip has gone from a general ache in the area to a specific muscle/tendon tightness somewhere in my hip external rotators. So today's not a great day. I hope I feel better after my nap. Which seems a long time from now. Ugh.
