Free to a good home

KU's Spring Break doesn't officially start until Monday. But everybody knows it started last night. For a lot of people, it started Thursday night. So! Here's my spring cleaning list. I want this stuff out of my house. Comment below if you want something and when you can come get it. I'll strike out items as they're claimed. Anything not picked up by Friday evening next week (March 22) is going to the Social Service League, even if it's been claimed, so don't dilly-dally picking up your stuff.

A set of three glass canisters with wooden lids. One six inch jar, one seven inch jar, one eight and a half inch jar. They hold between two and four cups each. Two sets available, one boxed one not. Take one or both.

A bunch of cookbooks. Take one or all.
The Mediterranean Cookbook, Betty Watson, 1973.
The Spice of Life Cookbook, David Wade, 1975.
A Book of Middle Eastern Food, Claudia Roden, 1972.

An Indian Table, Shehzad Husain, 1991.
Joy of Cooking, 1997 edition.
Thai, the Essence of Asian Cooking, Judy Bastyra, 2003.
Texistani, Indo-Pak Food from a Texas Kitchen, Beverly Hale (little photocopied thing).
Betty Crocker's Picture Cook Book, facsimile edition, 1998.

A hand-painted-by-me coffee canister (I don't need two of them anymore).

A shit load of wine corks.

Four-cup Farberware percolator and an Eight-cup Farberware percolator but only one power cord.

A box of loose-leaf Liu Pao tea from China.

A box of loose-leaf Sejac green tea from China.

Set of four margarita glasses, boxed.

1960s wood/aluminum three-piece condiment tray.

Quarter-cup jar of Penzey's Country French Vinaigrette seasoning. It was sent to me as a freebie in my latest order. The number one ingredient? Sugar. =b

A wheeled office chair.

A cookbook stand (holds your cookbook upright and open on the counter).

A giant wicker fan (appropriate for renfest).

A pressed-glass decanter.

A five-level aluminum picnic basket from the 50s.

One of those throw-in-the-microwave warm-up bags in the shape of a teddy bear.

Two index-card boxes, one full of blank index cards.

Two tiny, square, floral-painted picture frames.

An old boombox that is dusty but still works well.

A tan-colored leather backpack.

A rather-the-worse-for-wear decorative copper fountain shaped like calla lilies from that guy with the massive fountain store in Dunwoodie Dell at KCRF.

I'd be interested in:
The French Vinagrette seasoning
The office chair
The wicker fan
The index card boxes
The leather backpack
And the fountain
I can pick up tomorrow, but will need your address, as I haven't been out to your place before.

Whoa, thank you for taking so much! I'll message you with my addy.

I actually thought hard about each thing, trying to figure out what I might need and use. It's just grand luck that many of the things you had listed are things I find myself needing at the moment.

The excuse to come see you and visit with you for a few is just a bonus!

I'll take your corks.
and perhaps the canisters and margarita glasses, unless someone else has a need for them, because I only want them for project items.

(awww, that pretty fountain, :momentary homage to Fetish:)

Nobody's claimed 'em yet, and I want them gone. So they're yours. When can you get them?

[identity profile] shrijani.livejournal.com 2013-03-16 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
If these have not been claimed, I will take them:

A box of loose-leaf Liu Pao tea from China.
A box of loose-leaf Sejac green tea from China.

You bet!

I am intrigued by your picnic basket. The Brit has been wanting one, so I would gladly take it off your hands.

Also, I'm really glad you posted this, because I need to make a similar post of my own, and this reminded me.

The picnic basket is yours! It's adorable. You'll love it. When can you come get it? Lots of folks are picking their stuff up around noon today, so if that works for you...

Interested in the cookbook stand (been wanting one for *years*) & possibly coffee canister (depending on size). Odds of me making in to Lawrence before Friday are not good, however, so if someone gets 'em before me that's cool.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-03-17 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
They're yours! And they're small, so no problem holding those two things for you past Friday.
