Let sleeping dads lie

Parents arrived last night.

They're staying in a hotel downtown. Mommy called five minutes ago to say Daddy's still asleep. It's almost 10:00am. Poor guy must've been really tired.

I'm not gonna take them up to campus this morning. It's cold and it'll be too late by the time they get here. They expressed an interest in seeing the Steamboat Arabia museum, which a friend of theirs mentioned to them, so it's possible my planned schedule for today might get completely thrown out the window. AH WELL! As long as I get to Costco before dinner tonight, it's all good.

The Steamboat Arabia museum is well worth the admission! If you're in the area anyway, I highly recommend the World War I museum (go up in the tower - it's a fun view!). I liked it even though I don't care about museums much, or war. There's one day of the week where admission is buy one, get one free. (Tues or Wed, I think.)

Rin mentioned Mahaffie - I'd second that but there isn't much happening this time of year (plus it's a lot of outdoors, and right now that means muddy).

There's also the Deaf Cultural Center Museum in Olathe, but that's kind of special-interest, I'd think.

I've been to the Steamboat Arabia, and yes, it's great! We went to the WWI museum last time they were here. I just didn't want to go that far into KCMO. Was hoping to stay in the OP/Olathe area. But whatever! I'll let them decide.
