Dee Dee Tea
Well this is upsetting. 'Dangerously high pesticide levels' found in Celestial Seasonings teas. Note: the Examiner website has an auto-loading audio advertisement.
Guess what I was drinking when I read this article (thanks,
shanmonster, for the link to the news story). I'm not sure what to do with all my unopened boxes of Celestial Seasonings teas. None of them, btw, were the ones tested. So it could go either way on if they're in the Dangerously High category.
I sometimes joke about how eventually I'll wind up not being able to eat anything except that which I grow myself. Sometimes that joke is funnier than other times.
Update and related to nothing above (unless you feel like stretching things and making some sort of tea comment), I just saw this picture of Cumberbatch on
pennswoods's Tumblr. Those of you who know me in real life: Is this or is this not my expression 99% of the time when dealing with The World.

I am more and more on board with the idea that if it has a label of any kind the food is suspect. Because really: HAIN?
I started making my own almond milk. Man, is it good. The trick is finding unpasteurized nuts that I can actually afford.

From the teas listed in the comments, I have enjoyed Numi and Mountain Rose Herbals. My cafe gets loose teas from Divinitea in NY state. I don't have any data on the production but I bet they'd respond (in time, it's a tiny company) to questions about their teas. When they started it was all green/black/white teas and then they added herbal and flavored teas because of customer demand (the original trio are their passion).

So glad most of my teas aren't CS anymore. Have you seen the ones that the Merc has in the bulk section? I like to think we can trust them.. I hope.

I think I have a few pix of you with that very same expression.

Let me know what brand(s) you like as replacements. I've tried a couple Tulsi (http://www.organicindia.com/organic-tulsi-teas.php) teas that are okay. Heavenly Hip Hibiscus (http://www.nowfoods.com/Foods/Real-Tea/Products/087351.htm) is a tasty replacement for the Zingers. I think I like it more, actually.
