Just steer clear of the sewers

My goodness I've had a lazy holiday weekend. Much of that was due to the knee still feeling a bit wonky on Saturday, so I spent all day just lying around the house and eating.

Sunday I did get several pairs of bloomers made (nine pairs!) and nearly ran myself out of lace. I've got just enough to fill a special order for [livejournal.com profile] stuology for being my photographer. I won't order more until I see how the shop does. For those who might have missed last night's post, I decided to go with something simple and easy to remember, if not terribly clever: bloomershop. Frankly, I was amazed it was still available. So, Etsy shop coming soon!

Today is a day spent with an old friend whom I haven't seen in years (years! crazy!) and then this afternoon outside in a park with a group of friends I haven't hung out with all together in years (years! crazy!). There will be children (hence the need for outdoors and park), so that'll be interesting.

I must remember to bring bug spray.

Amy'll be here in an hour, so I'd best go make my breakfast.

Fortunately for you all, I already prepped a Tumblr collection for today. Tuesday, May 28: Aliens and Predators.

Looks like the storms for Lenexa have been canceled, so yay! Stuff's due to hit Lawrence around 7pm, so I just gotta be home before that.

Paul and Amy's kids are really great, but man, yeah. When it was naptime, there was nothing more doing.

Hope you had a good time with your picnic! But AMEN to your gif above!

Loved the tumblr, even though horror films are my second least favorite type of movie. And I know they aren't the slasher sort, but still-I give myself enough nightmares without any help at all!

Glad your knee is doing so much better, and yay for production! I'll make sure to look up your shop!

Headed out to the picnic in five.

What's your LEAST favorite type of movie?

[identity profile] carmy-w.livejournal.com 2013-05-28 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a tossup between an unhappy ending and most of the romance movies that are on the market.

I don't mind rom-coms, as long as they have some sort of intelligence, but most of them are in the same boat.

I detest romance movies, because they are so damn unrealistic, so I pretty much refuse to even watch them. I've never watched a single minute of Twilight. Don't plan to. But I can't stand an unhappy ending, or one that takes a sharp left turn at the end and falls off a cliff. I need closure!

I hated "Seven" with Brad Pitt, for two reasons: one-his lover gets killed, and two-he shoots the bad guy. Call me idealistic, but a cop shouldn't go out of his way to put the bad guy out of anyone's misery. I understood why-just didn't like it.

I am still frustrated with the ending of Battlestar Galactica, because they don't explain what happened to Starbuck! She just up and disappeared! But that's what happens in a series; they always have unanswered questions.

On the other hand, I liked the ending of "The Sixth Sense" which had one heck of a sharp left turn at the end! Maybe because it actually answered questions with the ending.

Time with friends-- yay!
I love that poster and relate to it greatly, even if we do have kids. I'm SO glad they are older now. ;-)

Oh my goodness and how. I can't imagine dealing with that every day.

Ha! Those early years were hard.

I never thought of myself as good parent material. But now? The kids are alright!

I have some friends with kids and more friends with kids on the way. And as much as I love their kids and I get excited and want to knit them things, it just reinforces my decision not to have them--parenting is hard, tiring work. Bless the people who do it well. But I can barely take care of myself.
