A comfortable lie
I made the hotel reservation and registered my membership for 221B Con in Atlanta next year.

I'm excited to meet
aprilstarchild and (HOPE HOPE HOPE HOPE)
pennswoods if she can make the long haul from Sweden. I was hoping to road trip there so I could bring a cooler of my own food. But I decided driving all that way home after the con would suck ass. =( Driving there would be kind of awesome, but shit I'm gonna be tired after the con, and driving home alone would be exhausting and probably a little depressing.

In preparation for importing my LJ archive and info over to Dreamwidth, I removed a whole bunch of people and comms that haven't been active in LJ. I wonder if I should start looking at adding some like-minded folks who have similar interests. My f-page is almost all RSS feeds these days, which is kind of sad-making.
Holy fucking shit look at this artist.
Just when I think the Dr. Boli blog has nothing more to offer me, it throws out a gem like this one: The Boy Who Cried Wolf, From Dr. Boli’s Fables for Children Who Are Too Old to Believe in Fables.
Had another round with insomnia last night which was less than awesome. I strongly suspect it was due to the bottle of wine I shared with my boss after work. I was up from midnight to 4:30. SO TIRED today.

Sorry you didn't sleep. Me, either, for completely different reasons. Do you get a long weekend so you can laze and nap?

YES OH YES my weekend starts today at 4:30 HOORAY

Also, you seem to be getting as much sleep as I am. SYMPATHIES. What time is it there, anyway?

(DW probably has more fandom stuff for you... but but but... I'm not active there and I'll miss you.)

Also: HUG! Thank you, bb. Nice to be appreciated.

Well, I know that there's a con about "all things Sherlock Holmes" and there's a hotel, but that's all the site tells me!
Does it really cover all the Sherlocks? o_O That's a LOT of fandom.. wow!
(Goodness, I think I have a Dreamwidth, let me know how the migration goes)

Actually, backing up is a really good idea. Maybe I should do that soon.

OMG ACD to BBC. I JUST NOW MADE THAT UP. I'm sure I'm not the first to do so, but still.
Yes I am that clever, even on four hours of sleep. BOOYAH.

I'm slow, it took me a minute to figure out ACD
Sometimes I really love the lack of sleep high, but boy, do I have to stack the adrenal supps.
And hey, there are at least a few grocery stores (http://goo.gl/maps/zKNyM) near the hotel and a shuttle bus!

I also need to research how to back up one to the other. I've not done that and after the almost-fatal-error with my att email recently I really need to save my LJ.

I just used the import feature and it moved everything, including comments, over to DW.

You's very welcome!
It's my ferret brain, always going "OOH, lemme go look that up!"

Also, the migration was super easy. I just used the import function in DW and everything copied over, even comments. The only thing I lost were user icons since I probably won't get a paid account on DW unless LJ goes completely belly-up.

I have seen someone doing space paintings like this at Art in the Park and there was a guy in Mérida, Mexico doing these in one of the plazas. We watched him for a really long time. I am kicking myself for not buying one (they were super-cheap), but I didn't know how I would carry it through the rest of my journey. Plus, I was sick at the time and not thinking clearly.

What eased it a great deal for me was that my ride back to Portland was with three other people who'd just left the con. And that when I got home I could get on tumblr and relive the whole thing. I eeeeased back into real life.
I'm planning to ask for an extra day off of work for both Seattle and 221bcon. I want that extra day to scream on tumblr and come down a bit.
Also I have the ridiculous luck of local fandom friends. I can see us meeting up a few days later just to babble at each other.

First I have to do Sherlock Seattle, which is approaching at a borderline-alarming rate.
Thank god for minifridges, I'm telling you. I wake up cranky and hungry and in need of coffee. I'm hoping to stock up on vegan muffins (or something similarly breakfast-like) and soy milk or creamer. Supposedly the hotel is going to have a Starbucks next year, but that would require me getting dressed and the possibility of seeing people before coffee, so I'd rather just make coffee in our room. Instant, even, if I have to.
Oooh, maybe I'll stash a plastic bowl etc. in my suitcase, and then I can eat actual cereal, which is my favorite thing to eat both for breakfast and as a late-night snack.
Wait. Do you think a hotel Starbucks would deliver?! ....but if the hotel is full that could be a long wait. Fuck it. I'm making it in the room.

Hell, coffeemaker = boiling water, so if I bring a bowl I can even make fucking RAMEN if I want to.

Wow.

This reminds me... I need to do another import over there.
