I have a feeling that is auto-generated. All it means is that the account associated with the Office of the Registar created the event so it shows up on the calendar.

Yup - this is how KU runs its calendar: Some accredited department or organization needs to have it on their calendar, which is then sucked in to the overall calendar.

But I like to think that KU's Registrar sponsors the 4th of July holiday.
