Well, that was exciting
Events of my morning:
10:30 a.m. I see a cop walk by the hallway window.
10:35 a.m. Professor F asks if we know what's going on with the cops outside the building and one hiding in the bushes.
10:36 a.m. All 5 department secretaries decide to go take a look.
10:37 a.m. The cop who meets us at the front door tells us we need to evacuate the building because there is a man in the building with a rifle.
10:38 a.m. All 5 secretaries return to our offices to get purses, sunglasses, and drinks. I grab an umbrella. It's a warm, sunny day, after all.
10:40 a.m. I decide that standing right outside the building is boring and probably dumb. We've already pushed our luck by going back to get our purses, after all. So another secretary and I walk down to the student union. We pass a woman who comments that she thinks my umbrella/parasol is a good idea and she will go buy one over the weekend.
11:05 a.m. We return and everyone is back in their offices. Apparently some idiot thought he'd bring his antique rifle to class. No case. Just the rifle. By the time we returned from the union, all the reporters had gone. Too bad. I'm sure there'll be a writeup in the paper tomorrow.
