Bandelettes!

These are fucking brilliant. Chub rub/thigh chafe, whatever-you-want-to-call-it sufferers, CHECK THESE OUT, YO. If summer wasn't nearly over, I'd be buying a pair. Definitely bookmarking them for next year, I tell you what.

Of course, now I'm caught up thinking about inner thighs, and how it feels to press my face against soft and inviting lady-legs. hnngngnggngnngn Okay, I really gotta step away from that trail of thought.

I've got a big ol' long-ass post in the works about body image and self esteem, desire and feeling desirable, and how all of this is coming to a head as I start my last year at KCRF in my current physical condition. It's good and it's healthy and it's positive (the post, that is), but it's also exhausting to think about and even more so putting it into words, so it's been slow going.

The tops of lace-trimmed stockings!
Sweet.. and sexy-looking.

Aren't they just the best idea? STELLAR.

I look forward to your teasered post with antici-----

Okay, those are a scathingly brilliant idea! Love!!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-08-21 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Even if I wanted to make the effort to make my own, I wouldn't. I feel like the designer of these things deserves my money. =D

[identity profile] sherwood21.livejournal.com 2013-08-21 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Those bandelette things are GENIUS. Also, glad to hear that there are good and healthy and positive things to be said about how you're feeling. :)

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-08-21 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! and Yes!

[identity profile] siro-gravity.livejournal.com 2013-08-21 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
god, what took so long for these things to come along? I wear pants/shorts all summer long under my dresses specifically to avoid the chub-rub. This is awesome!!

i look forward to seeing your body image post. it's something i deal with daily.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-08-21 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
If you buy a pair of 'em, let me know!

Body image, geez. I tell you what, it's a rough thing, innit?

[identity profile] siro-gravity.livejournal.com 2013-08-21 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
really, really hard oh yeah.
i will give you my full review!!

[identity profile] blackdwarv.livejournal.com 2013-08-21 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
As someone who only rarely wears a skirt, it makes me wonder... is thigh chafing really that big of a thing? Something I really hadn't thought of.

God. You had to mention pressing face to soft lady-legs. Gah. That's going to be echoing around my head for hours now. THANKS OBAMA.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-08-21 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
is thigh chafing really that big of a thing?

YES. GOD, YES.

Also, you're welcome. Mmmmm. Yes.

[identity profile] blackdwarv.livejournal.com 2013-08-21 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
No. It's a curse. I'm stuck alone for hours yet. HOURS.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-08-21 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, my not-really-in-laws-because-we're-not-married-but are due here in ten minutes and don't leave until Saturday, so trust me I know your pain.

[identity profile] alryssa.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
note to self: [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick has lovely lady legs, apparently.

*runs*

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 01:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha ha ha ha ha! NOT AT ALL, unfortunately. He has great legs, but they're definitely man-legs. Long and muscular, but not an ounce of fat on them. *sigh*

[identity profile] etcet.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
While I don't run into it often... it's definitely a thing when I wear a kilt to run a 5k or whatever.

(TMI?)

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't run into it often

I see what you did there.

[identity profile] etcet.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
That's good, because I totally didn't. *facepalm*

[identity profile] blackdwarv.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Run a 5k in a kilt...

You can run 5k?????? 8.

[identity profile] etcet.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
... well, not as fast as I used to[1].

Probably something in the 28:00 range these days.

[1] I was a cross-country runner in high school, so I had that internal 19:00 bar to compete with, and when I came back to running in my 30's, I got down around 23:00 before I started lifting heavy[2] and got away from cardio after doing a half marathon in 2009. (Icon photo was taken about three months after that race, at my leanest.)

[2] Since I'm about to undergo shoulder surgery in two and a half weeks so I won't be able to lift, and will go insane if I don't do *something*, I will probably get back to doing some kind of cardio to use the enforced downtime to rebuild my stamina, lose some weight, and improve my cholesterol profile.

...still better then my (estimated) 1440:00...

Honestly, you're probably selling yourself short (unless you've got some pre-existing condition, like crucifixion or being chained to a tree while a vulture eats your liver or something), but you can probably cover three miles at an easy walk in 60-90 minutes.n :-)

[identity profile] blackdwarv.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, okay... 1400 then..

I call mine "In Sin In Laws".

I used to not wear skirts because of this. I just realized, I've been wearing skirts all summer and not had this issue. O.O

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 01:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"In Sin Laws." I love it!

Bandalettes wouldn't save me from summer biking chafe. I swear by my silicone lotion. I don't get bicycle seat chafe from it. And my boy likes it, too, because it keeps him from getting ball chafe.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 01:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I've heard good things about silicone lotion for blister-rubbing shoes, too.

[identity profile] kazoogrrl.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Those look really cool, though I'll admit if they are anything like the stay-top thigh highs I had in high school they'd end up hanging out right above my knees.

Between always wearing shorts or bloomers under my skirts, and always wearing pantaloons under my many-yard dance skirts, the first time I performed wearing a somewhat fitted skirt with only underwear underneath felt . . . scandalous. I mean, seriously! I think they could see my ankles!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)

I think the fact that there is no stocking attached is what keeps these from creeping.

I think they could see my ankles!

HA!

[identity profile] aprilstarchild.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Or you could use that silicone stuff (in lotions or sticks) that makes your skin slide; it's sold as anti-chafing for long-distance runners. A few of my friends with bigger thighs than me swear by that stuff. And then you don't have another item of clothing to deal with.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I've heard good things about that stuff, too. I'm just leery of putting any additional chemical stuff on my skin. Heck, I don't even use hand lotion anymore unless I absolutely have to...

[identity profile] frugurl27.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
This is your last year at KCRF? :'(

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-08-22 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
YES. SWEET JESUS YES. DONE I AM SO DONE.
