No pirate's life for me

I finally got to see Pirates of the Caribbean over the weekend. I loved the movie. I mean, what's not to like? Johnny Depp looking as fine as he ever has in his life, and Orlando Bloom only looks bad with that stupid mohawk.

I think my next tribal dance costume addition is going to be a headscarf and fake braids thing modeled from Captain Jack's. Guess I better get to work on that for the next date at Aladdin's.

Now of course since it was a movie, everything was polished and prettied up and I didn't expect a true depiction of what sailor or pirate's life really was. Did some poking around yesterday and found a very informative website: BlindKat's Pirates Page.

Lots of descriptions of living conditions, history of pirates, punishments, weaponry, etc. No, no pirate's life for me, thanks. Unless it's the Disney version and I get to be the one stuck on the island with, well, either of our two fine heros. I'm not picky.

Wasn't it a good movie? We loved it, too! I thought it was funny that they incorporated parts of the actual ride (like the pirates in jail trying to tempt the dog to bring them the keys). Are you going to see the Haunted Mansion movie when it comes out?

Doubt it. It was my favorite ride, but I'm not a fan of Haunted House movies, and I'm even less a fan of Eddie Murphy. Sign me up for the Pirates sequel, though!
