At this point, I'm not even surprised

Soooooo I had a dance party for the graduate students last night. Or rather, I tried to. My receiver wouldn't cooperate. At all. We've had problems playing loud music on this receiver forever, but we thought we had it solved because I've been playing stuff pretty damn loud on occasion--either when I'm home by myself or showing off a particularly good album to a couple friends. Last night, though, it wouldn't even play at a reasonable volume when I was putting sound through the HDMI cable ('cos I was using the playlist on my laptook that I took, like, TEN HOURS to compile) even though the fucking thing had worked perfectly the night before when I had two people over to help clean. Then we tried CDs, and even they would shut the system down if played at a good volume. And I'm not talking super loud. We watch movies at a higher volume than I could turn it. So fucking done with this receiver. GOD DAMN IT.

Does anyone want a high end Denon receiver? Other than not being able to play loud for groups of people, it works fine. I'd like to get $250 for it. I paid $600 in November 2009.

People still seemed to have a good time, though, and hung out until almost 2:00. I got to bed just after that but woke two hours later with horrible, horrible abdominal cramps. No clue what's up with that. I had my period the week before 221B Con, had a little miniature period while I was there, and now I'm cramping again a week later? BLAAAAAAAH.

While [personal profile] mckitterick's out at his Saturday breakfast with Jim Gunn, I'm going to do some consolation shopping at a couple thrift stores before I knuckle down and haul all the extra living room furniture out of the sewing room that we moved for the *cough* "Dance Party" so I can throw together at least a few more pairs of bloomers for the craft fair at Replay Lounge tomorrow.

The one bright spot? Unamee shirts has this design available for the next few days. Think I might need one of those. SERIOUSLY.
