ROB ZOMBIE TONIGHT FUCK YEAH

Naturally, isolated thunderstorms are expected all evening and night, so I'm crossing my fingers that it's not going to be too wet and horrible. I have cleverly strategized my outfit for the evening, based on practicality and appropriateness.

Camo cut offs: lots of pockets, doesn't matter if they get wet or stained
Chuck Taylors: with insoles, moderately comfortable, doesn't matter if they get wet or stained
Gray hoodie: easy to tie around my waist if it gets hot, doesn't matter if it gets wet or stained
Black tank top: easy to layer under the hoodie and, possibly, the tee shirts I'll buy, doesn't matter if it gets wet or stained

Must remember to bring bug spray.

The graduate director is in this morning and brought her eleven-year-old son, who is hysterical and charming and has a few behavioral problems that make me adore him even more although I am glad I don't have to live with him. He announced his presence by screaming "HELLO, L****!" from behind me as I was typing an email. I assume he crawled through my door so the partition of my workspace blocked him, then once he was behind my chair it was easy enough to stand up and yell. I don't jump at many things, but I was very startled at that. He, of course, was thrilled and started laughing. I told him he scared me half to death and asked him if he was sorry. He was still laughing, but managed to get out a "yeah." I told him I didn't think he was sorry enough and tackled him to the ground (which he was definitely not expecting). Then I held him down with my legs and tickled him (he's pretty small) and asked him if he was sure he was sorry--was he really, really sure? He said yes he was really really sure and then we sat on the ground giggling and snorting at each other for a little while.

I think I skinned my knee through my jeans, and I messed up two of my nails that I re-painted this morning.

Totally worth it.

Updated to add: I just now found out that Bob Mould is playing The Bottleneck next Friday. August 16. When I'll be working at Crypticon.

LIFE SUCKS.

"Revenge is a dish best served with tickle fights" is a philosophy that would have dramatically changed the Klingon/Federation dynamic.

Someone's probably written that porn.

Hoping for you that any rain will be sparse and only misty.

I can't even imagine myself in a tickle fight. *shudders* LOL

I can't say it was much of a fight. Poor M*** had little chance of fighting back. He sure did try, though! Nearly got me in the chin with his knee, so good for him.

How awesome that you know them! I bought the shirt when I was in New Orleans for NYE 2004. I love it. I also have the Zombie Vodka shirt, purchased for me by [livejournal.com profile] gamera_spinning.

Haha!

Your belt is still sitting here on my chair. :)

Wow, I completely forgot about that until you reminded me. Honestly not sure when I'll feel motivated enough to drive over to get it, so if you want to put it away, that's fine! Sorry about that.

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2013-08-05 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
No worries. I figured you guys were out looking at water heaters when I didn't hear from you yesterday

I'll put it in the truck so if I come by your way, I'll just drop it off.

Sounds great! Thanks.

Fingers crossed for dry skies and a bit of a breeze to keep the bugs away!

Thank you!

... if that was NYE 2003 turning into 2004... I still lived in NO at the time (if 04 to 05, that was after I'd moved to FL). small fuckin' world.

It was '04 turning into '05. It was the last New Year's before Katrina.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-08-06 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It was fucking awesome!
