Crafty help needed
I decided to do a hamsa on the back of Pit Girl's vest instead of the sigil. The sigil just looked so...plain. I sketched out a couple different designs, then picked one I liked best. On some grid paper, I drew half of it, scanned it, flipped it in Photoshop, copied the mirror image onto the original half, printed it, re-traced it with a sharpie, printed it again, and scanned it. Here's the finished design:

Now I need a way to get it on the denim. Nobody in town prints onto iron-on transfers and I'm not interested in buying an entire pack of that iron-on transfer paper plus the ink-jet printer necessary to make one myself (I have access to a laser printer, but not an ink-jet). From a previous quest, I know that nobody in town sells embroidery transfer pens, either.
Suggestions on how to get my design onto the back of the vest? There's no way I can replicate it freehand.

Using transfer paper (like what I use for transferring tailor's marks) is a good idea, though! I'll save that idea for next time I need something like this done.

And I even have an ancient overhead projector that I stole out of the trash when our office moved...If nothing else pans out, that might work. Hm. I might sneak into the copy room and make an overhead copy of this image JUST IN CASE.

Projectors are the bomb. Glad I've give you another use for yours!

On an unrelated topic, a Finnish friend of mine is looking at choli tops, and wanted to know if missbellydance.com is a reputable site - namely, are the materials decent, given the prices? They're hideously expensive where she is (about $50US give or take for a coin belt). Since I have no idea what the going rates are for these things, I offered to pass her query along to you for your thoughts.

If she's serious about buying quality costume pieces, I recommend the following vendors:
http://www.dahlal.com/
http://www.desertdancer.com/
http://stores.ebay.com/sirik
Shira.net also has a list of vendors on her website, including European ones:
