Upon hearing that there is a shower scene with a nude Wil Smith in I, Robot, I might have to revise my decision to wait for video.
I found out yesterday that one of my favorite teen authors (although I read her stuff when I was about 9 or 10), Paula Danzinger, died last week.. Very sad. I came across one of her books when I was cleaning the house Friday--the day after she died. Very sad. =(
Last night I had the pleasure of ripping out the nearly finished panel skirt for the Kodo piece in CotK. The lining had been cut badly (not by me) and I couldn't tack in a normal bag lining. Not only was the piece cut too big, it's slightly on the bias, so it hangs at an angle. Lovely. I had to rip the entire skirt apart so I can use it for a pattern piece to re-cut the lining (on the grain this time) and then I'm just going to tack the lining in and treat the two fabrics as one piece. It won't look as nice, but I still have this costume to finish, another one to start (same costume for another girl) and four more hip scarf-skirts to finish for the finale piece. I need to have them all done by Saturday for dress rehearsal. Sigh. It's looking like Friday's gonna be a "vacation" day so I can everything finished. On the up side, these costumes rock. I promise--photos as soon as I have them.
Can anyone recommend a good foundation makeup that doesn't sweat off? I bought some of the Max Factor 16 hour stuff (I know my M.A.C. Studio Fix doesn't hold up to my copious face sweat) and while I liked the Max Factor for daily wear, I sweat it completely off during a 30 minute dance rehearsal--just running choreography in an air conditioned studio. No way that's going to last me during a day out at Faire, even just walking around at a leisurely pace. Should I spring for Ben Nye greasepaint? Any and all advice appreciated (BTW, this is only for whore days. I don't bother wearing foundation on days that I dance).

Also, Rougewench has fantastic makeup out there and it always looks good. :>
And, the flirting and wooing class is as much about keeping it light and what not to do as anything else. And, how to flirt with your eyes, how to spice up normal conversations, how to kiss hands, etc.

I wouldn't mind sewing them all myself if I'd had a little more time. Like you know, starting in April!

Hopefully times have changed, when I was in TH&F at KU they just sent us down to Fun & Games to get the cheapo costume makeup kit. They probably did more detailed makeup work in the school of journalism television classes.

As far as makeup goes, I have found that the key is to use a good solid layer of powder on top of the foundation. If you're wanting to sculpt your face - make cheekbones more prominent or do some work on your nose or chin, best to it with cream colors right on top of the foundation and then powder the hell out of it. My problem has always been runny eyeliner. I think we're going to have a makeup night sometime????
Anyway, I can't wait to *pounce* on you!
BTW, I friended you, hope that's okay *grin*

My solution to this is just start the day with smeary, smokey eyes. Jack Sparrow Eyes. =D I've been known to put on all my makeup and then rub my eyes to get everything good and smudgey. Very sexy and slighty consumptive looking. Hee!
I would love to have a makeup night. I'm looking at purchasing a trial kit of waterproof foundation makeup from Colortration (http://www.colortration.com/) and am more than willing to share the different colors I get (from a trial pack of 6 colors). I also need some help with my new wigs. The woman at the wig store made them look great, but when I try to do the same thing, it still looks like a wig, not my hair...practice, I know, but I could use some pointers.
