Finding videos like this is the reason I still check FB once a day.
Because SERIOUSLY. How is your life not better for having seen that?
Today's Tumblr collection is Tuesday, January 14: Due South (part...4?). I had a ton of dS posts liked and I felt like I needed to prove I wasn't just a Sherlock tumblr after the past three weeks.
A long time ago I posted about how talking bad about yourself is bad for you and how I don't do it and I ask my friends not to do it, either. Here are some lovely words from Pat Cadigan about that issue and here is a comic about how ridiculous is the notion of "feeling fat."
I mentioned how I'm hungry, like, all the time, and after work yesterday was no different. When I got home I ate a can of sardines (yes, I know, but I like them, okay?) and twenty minutes later I was still hungry. Dinner wasn't going to be ready for another hour and a half, so I ate a handful of roasted pistachios. And I blew up like a balloon. It was hugely uncomfortable, crazy hard and tight across my belly, and I even had a bit of internal discomfort (rare). This was the first time I'd swollen more than an inch, tops, since the beginning of the month. Interesting, no? So now nuts are Off The Menu unless they're heavily incorporated into a dish, like using almond or sesame seed butter as a soup thickener, or roasted almonds sprinkled on a salad. I woke this morning still feeling a little uncomfortable in my belly and have had no desire to eat today (even though it's nearly noon).
Getting pretty hungry in here, though, so will break out the lunch soon. Nothing with nuts, though. Not today.

Did you see the video going around for Knife Party - "Internet Friends"? I ask because it had a sound that made me think of you for some reason. It was a bit of a trainwreck of a video (NSFW). I honestly don't know if I like it but it really caught my attention.
Edit: After reading that I realized I should point out that we aren't that kind of "friends".
Edit 2: I actually like you.
Edit 3: Also I think the song could use a Sherlock video. THAT is all your fault. :)

So, yeah, I am completely with you and your trainer. I've never believed it was any one food in particular because I've tried eating the exact same thing on different days and experienced different levels of swelling.
However, since January 2, I haven't had nuts by themselves since I do my best to avoid snacking while on the Whole30. And the reaction was so immediate, I can't not make some sort of connection, there. Especially when things are really chill in my life at the moment and I've been sleeping well for over a week.
Thanks for chiming in, and I'm glad to see there are still people sticking around here, following My Wacky Health Saga!

Can't watch any more than that video, I'll want one.
Nuts? NUTS! That's damned disappointing.

Yeah. After my body calms down (I'm still swelling after eating, now, more than I've been the past couple weeks), I'm going to try them incorporated into a dish and see if the same thing happens. I'm betting not, because I've been eating almond butter with other things since January 1 with no problems.

We'll have a litter in a few weeks. Six weeks to wean and they'll be looking for homes. Mini Rex--softest Velveteen Rabbit fur you can imagine. Nine pounds fully grown.
Just sayin'...

(loved the cute)
I found it odd I was eating a handful of almonds as I read your post about no more nuts from 3 days ago. O.o
