Happy Birthday, mckitterick! I thought of you when I read this article. I'm not sure about labeling people alpha/beta/omega (perhaps out of a strong sense of self-preservation due to my slash-reading habits), but this article is sweet and charming and loving.

I finally saw Don Jon last night. It was PERFECT. Oh my god so perfect and better than I expected (and I expected a lot).

Yeah, I'm spending a lot of time lying down on the couch watching movies right now. Since Tuesday, I have seen: Despicable Me, Secret Life of Walter Mitty, the first five episodes of Friends, an episode of the BBC's Life, Ratatouille, and Don Jon. Oof. That is a lot of television-watching, my friends.

I'm not sure what we're doing today, since my back is still a bit sore (getting better, though!), but it will probably involve television. It's a good thing mckitterick likes watching television.

Oh yeah, and happy American independence day. Whatever. Pretty difficult for me to get excited about this country right now.

Happy birthday @mckitterick! The Sparrowhawk is another one of those. And he's been pretty smug about the article he once read demonstrating scientifically that the so-called beta baboons get all the sex and pass their genetic material on to more offspring, because they hang out with the female baboons doing a lot of grooming, food-sharing, and care of the young, while the so-called alphas spend all their time in over-amped displays to impress each other, and die young from the stress. May you live long, and thoroughly enjoy your days!
