Oh, that is so annoying. I know "healthy diet and exercise" are important, but for me, when doctors throw that in more or less at random, it really irritates me. I find it so condescending. I feel like yelling "You don't know me!" Like they presume that at no point during one's extensive struggle with Condition X did it ever occur to one to try eating well and exercising--even while Condition X made those very things more and more difficult. What I expect from doctors is medical attention that will FIX MY PROBLEM, not another copy of the DASH diet.
