Don't even bother asking

Because I am not interested in seeing this movie. Yeeesh.

Following [livejournal.com profile] radcliffe's example, I'm going to post (mostly for my own benefit) my remaining costume items:
Whore costumes
  • Finish bodice #1
  • Bodice #2 from start to finish
  • Hem skirt
  • Sew casings and insert elastic/drawstrings into chemise and bloomers
  • Add ruffles to bloomers
  • Petticoat from start to finish (including ruffles--eek)
  • Make or purchase pouch/purse
  • Purchase belt and fan
    Dance costumes
  • Last tassel, ties, and lining for costume #2
  • Piece together and line vest for costume #2
  • Skirt for costume #1 from start to finish
  • Purchase and cover bra for costume #1

Ok, yep, that's what I thought. Time to freak the hell out. On the plus side, the vast majority of financial obligations have been met. Now that my bank account has suffered, I guess it's time for my social life to do the same. Gotta buckle down and get this stuff finished. Right.

"Time to freak the hell out."

I say go for it. A little freak out now and then is needed.

Thank you, miss. Saw the preview for that movie and carried the willies with me for about half an hour.

Horror based on scale has always worked for me. "House of Leaves" spooked me more than any other book I've ever read because it was scale-based horror (a stairwell that the main character would die before he ever reached the top, a hallway between two adjacent rooms that took five minutes to traverse, that sort of thing), and this movie looks like it'll do more in that light than just about anything. The sharks seem like overkill.

It looks like another "XTreme Nature" type of movie. Hrmph. If I were really on a little boat in what looks like hurricane-blown waters surrounded by sharks, then yeah, a little scary. When I'm sitting in a movie theatre shoving Hot Tomales in my mouth, nah...

Wish I could help with the sewing, but I'd be useless. You could skip one of the Sellout shows for a quiet night of sewing. Yup, sure...

I figure it's not likely that I'll be sewing after 9:00 p.m. anyway, so what the hell, I might as well go get some exercise.

I would freak out, but see, I don't have the time...

I couldn't even get through reading the reviews. Brrrrr...

    Sew...sew like the wind...

I actually have a callous on my right index finger from all the handwork I've been doing. It's kinda cool. Too bad I can't bring my sewing machine to the office...

I'm with you. The preview I saw made me acutely uncomfortable. I don't want to see this one. I wonder if I could even sit through it. Not b/c it's a bad movie, but b/c it would be just too much to take. As much as I love being on the water, being stuck out in it, miles away from anyone and anything is horrifying. I agree with Demory. The sharks is just overkill... then again, even as short as the movie is (1h 19min), there's only so much bobbing around in the water you can watch before fear and discomfort give way to ennui. Something needs to be there to break up the monotony. God forbid they actually script some interesting dialog...

Who knows, though. I could be convinced to see it. Everything has a price.

oh I won't go see that either. I LOVE water but can't swim to save my life, AND evil sharks-forget it!!!

same with the crappy anaconda movie too..I like snakes, and don't want to get some crazy feel of them from a dumb movie!!!

    [identity profile] mechascorpio.livejournal.com 2004-08-12 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, Anaconda 2 would just be a disappointment after "Python vs Boa"

    [identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2004-08-13 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
The anaconda one looks pretty damn funny, though. When I saw the preview, my first response was "oooo, pretty." LOL! Obviously we are not their target audience.

Python vs Boa? Oh wow, I can't believe I missed that!!! Mmmm...snakey eye candy!

hahahhaha thats what I thought too!!!!yes, we AREN"T the target audience!!!
