I need to find a job that doesn't involve so much use of technology

My computer has been fucking up left and right all over the place. So bad that the IT guy finally threw up his hands and built me a new one. Which I used for one day (last Friday) and then Tuesday after the MLK holiday, it was fucking up again in the exact same way (Shockwave Flash errors All The Damn Time). The only thing he could figure out that would help was to uninstall and the reinstall both Flash and Shockwave when I got the errors (which means doing that about two or three times a day no I am no shitting you).

Today, Obama is talking AT KU and I really wanted to watch the Livestream. Of course I started to get the errors, so I uninstalled the softwares. I thought I'd try to load the livestream without them, but was told I couldn’t load the video b/c my browser wasn’t compatible. I downloaded and reinstalled Flash. While I was trying to re-install Shockwave, I got Shockwave errors WHILE I WAS TRYING TO DOWNLOAD THE SHOCKWAVE SOFTWARE.

So now not only do I not get to watch the livestream, I think I’ve hosed my system even more.

We just tried a complete HD wipe (again) and I'm going to track exactly what websites I visit (seriously, I am WRITING THEM DOWN as I go) and if my computer starts freaking out after I go to one, well then I'll know something. And if I wind up writing down all my visited websites for a week with no errors, the worst thing I've got is documentation of all my wasted time.

So everything's wiped and now I'm getting a Javascript Application error that says "too much recursion" (in all lowercase, seriously, programmers?) when I load Tumblr, which started happening on my computer at home over the weekend.

Do you have XKit? That happened to me - I had to remove it and re-install and that cleared it up.

...but totally related: Mom turned 89 yesterday and mentioned at our evening get together that some waveflash thing was griefing her. Her research pointed toward both Adobe and Google arguing over who had the most permissions toward playing something.

Her monkey, her circus (not invited to help, but hey, 89 and going for it?); but I mentioned that something as simple as an ad could trigger a fight over which player has priority. So maybe not the site so much as the sidebar stuff...

(...and people argue about randomness and karma wheels.)

Did you see the story about him visiting the cafe in Baltimore and taking a selfie with the staff? That's the cafe where I'm a partial owner, we started it as a collective through I'm not currently active. While this was happening, though, I was at my regular job THREE BLOCKS AWAY and I couldn't leave to get there. *bangs head into desk*
