A veritable frenzy of activity
Hit the ground running on Friday night with an evening of booty-shaking at the Sellout show. Got a whopping four hours of sleep before getting up for a sewing marathon on Saturday. Failed two nap attempts but proceeded to the Saturday Sellout show and boogied down again. A combination of little sleep, little food, and general stress caused some severe stomach cramping, however, and as soon as the dance endorphins wore off (about 2 minutes after exiting the stage), I had to go lie down. Stomach pain resulted in little sleep Saturday night and Sunday I wasn't worth much. Barely got anything done on Sunday besides whine and moan.
It was fantastic to see everyone who came out for the Sellout shows. I think we sent Sunnye off in style. I wish I had the guts to audition for one of the lead singer openings. I'm a coward.
This morning was orientation for our new incoming graduate students. Fun for everyone. Things have finally settled down at my desk now and as I consider taking an hour off for lunch I see the part-time secretary leaving. Which means it's 2:00 in the afternoon already. Cripes.
The SAGE webmaster put up pictures of the department picnic from last year and I'm in one of the photos. I'm amazed (and a combination of proud/horrified) at how much weight I've lost in a year. Wow. Twenty pounds is a lot more than I thought.
This weekend I finished two pairs of bloomers, one petticoat, and all but the trim on the second petticoat. Due to lack of sleep I refrained from working on the bodice. That's on the menu for this evening. When I had to rip out the hem on even the petticoat (hemmed it inside out) I knew it wasn't the time for sewing anything that required actual thought.
OK, it's 2:30 now and I really am going to go eat something...

Ah, you were pretty then, you're pretty now...but yes, you do seem to have lost some weight. Still, hardly necessary, from where I sit.

You weren't trying to sit in my jeans. =>

I am pausing to consider the probable joys of crawling into your jeans.
