Trikonasana and Utthita Parsvakonasana look like really nice core stretches.

Trikonasana is one of my favorite poses, and Utthita Parsvakonasana is one of my least favorite. And of course they're always paired up in a series.

Again, thanks for the list of poses and the links. From the linked description: . . .lengthen your spine, which is always the first prerequisite of a successful twist. Yes! That's what I figured out recently that explains why I hurt my shoulder doing a twist. I had not lengthened my spine sufficiently, so I was pulling on the neck and shoulder rather than twisting correctly from the core.

Ouch!

Would you do a post with a focus on the myofascial release on posterior chain?
pretty please?
Or... linkage is fine!

I don't have any links besides recommending Kelly Starrett's MobilityWod site (http://www.mobilitywod.com/). Most of my MF release knowledge is through personal experience and trying stuff out. I'd be happy to set up a time to show you how I do my roll-outs, if you'd like to come over sometime.

ETA: I'm home most of today (Sunday) with laundry and food prep, if you wanna come over this afternoon. Just send me a text or something.

Thank you.
we've got plans for today, but I appreciate the offer. Perhaps later this week or this next Sunday?

Thursday evening and Saturday between noon and 4:00 work for me.

We may have to hold out for another time then, if I'm too tired on Thurs. I have my hour long training and Sat is Jbird's only weekend day together this week.
and I'll check the link.. thank you for that!

No problem! MF Release really isn't rocket science. I think you're in tune enough with your body that you'll be able to figure it out just fine.

Yes, I've found a few articles, basically self-massage on a firm surface, got it! :)

Also, the best roll-out tools I've found aren't necessarily on pricey websites. My two favorite roll-out balls I found at Michael's and Target in the $1 bins!

Thanks! I'm going to start with one of the pool noodles I have to see how that works for me, and then use my "two tennis balls in a sock" for the back!

Next time you come over, I'll give you one of the $1 balls that I use to roll out my feet. They're just squishy enough to give good resistance without being hard, and they're flocked, so they don't go shooting out from under your foot quite so easily! I bought a dozen of them for giving away, I loved mine so much.

That's really sweet of you, thank you!
