I'm not gettin' it, Ted

I recommended Father Ted to someone who has probably already seen it but she was looking for some media recommendations and she needed something silly and not angsty, so...Father Ted.

I remain tired, lethargic, and borderline depressed. Instead of feeling exhausted and fatigued after small efforts like climbing a flight of stairs, my body just feels tired all the time. I got back from a morning meeting and stood for less than half an hour before I had to return my desk to the sitting position because I didn't think my legs were going to support me much longer. *sigh*

If I didn't desperately need to make some food (I had to order extra food last night when I went out for burger salad just so I'd have something for lunch today), I'd spend tonight on my couch with Father Ted, myself.

also good in potentially a similar vein is "The Thick of It" which is, basically, Peter Capaldi's Malcolm Tucker abusing hapless English political flunkies.

Except he's SO ANGRY all the time. Which, I totally get the humor of that, but it's exhausting. That's what I like about Father Ted. All of Ted's little tragedies he brings on himself, and none of them are causes to raise blood pressure. It's just a fun show in all the best ways.

very true. i find TToI to be cathartic, but can see how it's a sometimes food. :-)

Your lethargy makes me sad. I hope it goes away.

Me, too. I'm gonna refocus on making more time for yoga and I think that will help. I've been neglecting yoga lately in favor of spending time with [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick since I'm not gonna see much of him for about four to six weeks starting late May.

I'm sorry for your lethargy as well. *hugs*

Oh that photo is adorable and I don't even like monkeys. I have a collection for Interspecies Friendships in the works!

Yay, I love it! I don't think I mentioned that I loved the elephant collection, but it was wonderful.

This photo makes me so happy.

I'm grateful to Father Ted for a number of things, including but not limited to introducing me to Graham Norton, being eminently quotable, and giving me the perfect quote to throw at my good friend from high school, who is a theologian.

I'm sorry you're tired and lethargic. *hugs* Some weeks are like that. Here's hoping a weekend will do the trick and you're feeling like conquering the world next week!

Thank you! It's good that there are other people out there who get the notion of "some times are just like that."

I'd give you a fist-bump, but my hand is too tired to rise up to the occasion. Only half-joking. I actually ate a handful of M&Ms to give me enough sugar boost to get to the gym.

Oh, poor thing! I hope you don't overdo it. *weak wave in lieu of fistbump*

I'm always brutally honest with Alex, and he adjusts training accordingly. He focused on things I already do well, (so easy and gave me energy to tackle those moves in a harder way) then he added in a couple new things at the end so I had some challenge, but not enough to kill me.

The challenge was isolations in the shoulders while lifting light weights at full arms length. Subtle, yet powerful. I loved it, and I do feel better.

We need to share/exchange some trainings soon!

Ah, lethargy. I feel you, friend. I hope whatever is triggering this latest spell of it for you moves right the fuck along and quickly.

The visual image of lethargy moving the fuck along is awesome.

Around here, there's tons of pollen falling from the sky. Many people are sneezing and lethargic and blaming it on our friends the trees and flowers. Whatever the reason for yours, I hope it goes away soon!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-05-08 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! Oh god that would be wonderful if it was allergies...

While it doesn't help with feeling like your body is failing you, I have started playing around with various frittata recipes. You can do it all in one pan, pretty much throw in whatever veggies you like, and then it finishes off in the oven so it's hands-off for that part, and can last a few days + lots of protein from the eggs.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-05-08 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty good with food prep (I made all my food for 221B Con ahead of time!)--it's just I haven't had the energy to cook. Which is one of my favorite things to do!

[identity profile] gentlespirit.livejournal.com 2015-05-08 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry. Maybe a slow cooker recipe? That way you could still sort of engage with preparing food, but it might not take as much energy?

I hope you get some couch time in this weekend!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-05-08 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
ME, TOO!

[identity profile] mckitterick.livejournal.com 2015-05-13 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Gawds, I love Father Ted.

Here's hoping the fatigue evaporates after your bleeding-and-cramps time.
