Oh, son of a...

Ready for this one? I got the bodice finished! Hurray!!!! Put it on last night and thought "something doesn't feel right on the left side here." Poked at it a bit and realized the 14" side boning somehow fell out of the left side. Or something. I have no idea. I also have no idea where it is. Tonight I plan to tear apart the sewing room in a last ditch effort to find it. I'll still have to open up the bottom left side, but in the grand scheme of things, that's hardly the end of the world. I'm more concerned about being able to find a 14" piece of boning before Friday afternoon. Argh!

On the plus side, I got all my handwork done last night thanks to the storm that forced me to retreat to the basement for a good hour or so.

So, update:
Whore costumes
  • Finish bodice #1
  • Bodice #2 from start to finish
  • Hem skirt
  • Sew casings and insert elastic/drawstrings into chemise and bloomers
  • Add ruffles to bloomers
  • Petticoat from start to finish )
  • Make or purchase pouch/purse
  • Purchase belt and fan
  • Finish second chemise (new item--I'm not happy with the first chemise)
    Dance costumes
  • Last tassel, ties, and lining for costume #2
  • Piece together and line vest for costume #2
  • Skirt for costume #1 from start to finish hem
  • Purchase and cover bra for costume #1

For anyone wanting a "hmmm" moment today, I strongly urge you to check out [livejournal.com profile] prarietracker's entry for today. Very good words to ponder.

I have done this at least once - have you checked the casing on the opposite side to see if you slipped two bones in, instead of one?

I've checked as best I can without opening up the bottom on both sides. But none of the channels feel any stiffer than the others...Sigh.

    Grump grump grump!

Do you have boning that you aren't using from the first set? We could do a switch for lengths, or I will just give you a 14 inch piece. I will be at the shop tonight till 6. :>

Since re-drafting the bodice pattern, none of the lengths I got from you will work anymore (story of my life). I traded out some of the ones I got from you with Catherine for boning for this bodice. But I had lots left over. I will call you when I get home (around 5:15) to let you know if I'm going to have time to drop by your office. I have dance rehearsal tonight. Sigh.

Did you find the boning piece? Sorry you lost it, hopefully temporarily though, but it does look like you are progressing nicely on your list. Better than my "to-make" list. :-)

No, not found yet...but I haven't had time to look yet. Sounds like your "To Make" list is going pretty well, frankly. Hot-CHA!
