Wednesday is the new Friday
Thanks to those who offered insight and experiences on yesterday's question about my menstrual stuff. I'm so glad to be at a point in my life where I am comfortable talking about a normal body function without being embarrassed. Sincere appreciation to those friends who are in the same place with me. I think I'm going to mention these issues to my doctor next time I see her, but I'm not going to worry about it too much for now.
This Breaking Muscle article about how we perceive our daily activity affects our health is fascinating.
If you're a Kindle owner and want a new cookbook (and aren't vegetarian), consider picking up Melissa Joulwan's two amazing contributions to the Paleo Eating community. They're on sale for $1.99 each on Kindle right now.
There is talk of a few crafting panels at Con*Strict, including origami and a make-a-purse-from-a-book. Y'all, I might have found my people.
Today's my last day at the office this week.

The book purse is probably something like this, which I've always found charming:

I am always up for talking about bodily functions. Years and years of issues/tests/procedures/surgeries have left me totally uninhibited about this stuff.
One of my good friends made me a Stephen King book purse and I LOVE IT. I have never carried it anywhere because I don't want to ruin it. I consider it more of a display piece.
Your con crafty comments make me wonder if there is something we can do at 221b Con next year, assuming we all still go.

Truth. And of the ones that are, most are based in yarn or thread--knitting, crocheting, tatting, embroidery, spinning on a drop spindle...when I was doing SCA stuff I saw people with card-weaving but that's not something you'd put in a suitcase to head to a con via airplane.
Origami is pretty portable though, at least until the object is folded up!

I'm going to think of every extra step at work, or standing up motion as exercise!

Regarding daily activity: now I wonder how much of my weight loss when I became a mail carrier was due to believing that I would lose weight. But then, an acquaintance wore a fitbit thing and found out he burned something like 3,000 calories a day. And most--not all, but most--mail carriers on walking routes are thinner than carriers on driving routes.
