On a scale of one to five

Monday was another crushingly-tired day. It was bad enough that I resolved to start tracking my fatigue (again, and for real this time). Here's my scale:

1 - Non-functional. Call in sick to work. Nothing is happening today.
2 - Barely functional. Distracting brain fog, difficulty moving limbs. Capable of completing only the minimum of activities.
3 - Functional. Fatigued, but able to do one or two things after work (for example, make dinner and watch a movie). This is my version of normal.
4 - Above functional. Can get through the workday and participate in an evening activity that requires physical movement (make dinner and then sew, do yoga, or attend an event outside the house).
5 - Energetic. Able to maintain enthusiasm for job tasks and excited to do something mentally or physically engaging after work.

Monday was a 2, bordering on a 1. Yesterday was a 3. Today's back to 2. Other than Friday's experiment with the Berocca supplement, I don't remember the last time I experienced a 5. Being depressed about that doesn't help, though, so...

I'm so sorry that you're having so many fatigued days! I wish I could send you an energy boost! I could siphon it off my kid - he's got plenty to spare!

I got so much done during my teens! I was editor of the yearbook for two years, participated in every single play all four years, was one of the yearbook's main photographers for events, and graduated as a state honor scholar (not to mention all the general hanging-out and stuff most teens do). What I'd do for even a fraction of that energy now.

Just reading all that wore me out, no lie! I'd still give you at least half of what piddly-ass energy I have if I could figure a way to do it!

Ugh.. I'm headed for bed.. it's 6:08pm. I know you can figure that out.

Glad I'm not the only one who does this.

I spent the hours between 5:30 and 8:50 on the couch with some fanfic. The only times I got up were to go to the bathroom. And then I went to bed.

We really must give up this whirlwind lifestyle of ours.

I would have answered with a laughing gif, but this actually made me laugh out loud and I thought you'd like to know that.

I'm so happy to hear that! My day is complete.

Fucking fatigue. This scale is actually quite useful for me too. Here's to more 3s and someday even a 4!

I'm sure what you'd really like to hear is one more "have you tried this?" but I was just talking to a mom this morning about supplements for fatigue (I had a teacher appreciation committee luncheon today so had plenty o' mom chat). She said she has chronic fatigue and a few of months ago started taking Rhodiola Rhodiola Rosea (you can google it, obvs, but I'll just link to webmd reviews (http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientreview-883-roseroot.aspx?drugid=883&drugname=roseroot)) because she was sick of nothing else working, and it made a significant difference in her energy levels. She said she noticed it both mentally and physically (it came up wrt her having the energy to contribute to the luncheons now and she specifically mentioned being excited and enthusiastic about things). So, anyway, there you go.

I don't want to introduce anything on my own since I'm on such a programmed schedule with Drs. Jonah and Khosh, but I'll mention this to them to see what they think of adding it in. Thanks!

*hugs*

The scale is a great idea. I may borrow it...

I'm sad that anyone I care about needs it, but I'm glad to provide it.
