Argh
My day just went from "Bang Head Here" to "Jump Off Bridge."
I spent most of my morning (you know, the parts that weren't spent on LJ and email) fiddling with a website for an ad-hoc committee in the department. They want a random changing image on the page, like the one on the English department website. When I created that, I lifted the HTML from the main KU site and now I can't figure out how I did it. Nothing works. I pasted the HTML into the new document, didn't work. Fiddled. Didn't work. Grrrr. So I decided to take a little break. Left my desk, went to check my mailbox, ate some peas. Came back to my desk and tried to access the file again. My U:/ drive on the shared server is unavailable.
This is the third time this week that fucking server has failed. Since making my life miserable way back in January, our so called LAN "Support Services" has done precious little to endear themselves to me. In fact, I'd like to go down there with a crowbar and do a little endearing of my own. If it didn't look like rain (and here's another shout out to all you idiots who were stupid enough to say, out loud, "Oh it looks like you'll have good weather for dancing this weekend"--shut it!) I'd go out for a long walk. Pity there are no short piers around.

I'm glad you figured it out, though!
