Friday Update

I leave for Con*Strict in two hours. Going to Las Vegas in fucking July cracks my shit up every time but it's not like I leave the hotel much. I suppose it's worse in August but probably not by much. Definitely will not be doing the marathon thrift shop excursion that write_out  so graciously accompanied me on last time. Very much looking forward to being in a weed-legal state.

A hair over 2k words into the first-time fic and it feels good. It was supposed to be a PWP but god damn I love UST so while there's still nothing I would call a plotline (although I'm sure some would--I'm looking at you mckitterick) it's a lot, well, more fleshed out than I'd originally planned. From what I hear this is pretty par for the course with writing. Makes me a leetle nervous about the Ghost Story AU which I already know is going to be multiple chapters. ha ha ha ha ha ha *thud*

Since I'm anticipating highway construction in at least one spot and the Kansas City airport is currently being demolished (*sob!* I loved our old airport) I'm leaving way earlier than normal for my flight so I should probably get a move on.

So it's maybe a good thing that I didn't make it to the airport quite in time to work on what is now entering the porny portion of my fic because the woman next to me at the charging station is scrolling through a lot of very conservative-looking Jesus stuff on her phone.

Ha! Actually I wound up sitting next to a Fox News watching woman on the plane and wrote a few hundred words of them finally getting their trousers open. It was delightful. 😃

OMG, I had no idea about the airport!!! I used to work in terminal A! It was a cool airport, but really sucky when it came to staffing it because of all the damn checkpoints.

Hope you're having fun in Vegas. I wish there was a way I could go and yet not actually be in the US. ;)

It's SUCH a bummer about the airport. I understand the logistical problems with it but it was just so easy to get around as a passenger!

Everybody here misses you. I've heard "wish she were here" several times about you. I, too, wish I didn't have to be in the U.S. =D

You never had to change terminals, did you? The stupid Red Bus was pretty crap. I had to use it to get around from terminal to terminal. It was not fun.

I think you're telling stories. But that's okay. <3 I'm not sure about a trip home during an election year, but I'm even less sure about not getting to see everyone for that long. :(
