Wednesday Update
Heading home today. Thank dogs. Still getting along with the parents, always good.
Daddy and I saw the new Apollo 11 documentary at the IMAX theater yesterday. So much unreleased footage! There was no narration, just audio from the recordings. I liked it very much. Wish I'd brought earplugs, though. Was glad it was only an hour long because I had to cover my ears nearly the entire time.
Their 50th wedding anniversary is in September and they're getting some photos taken today. Mommy told me Sunday (after I arrived) that she wanted me to be in some of the photos with them which is...fine? But I told her if she ever wants to do something like that in the future to let me know ahead of time because it would've been really nice to, you know, bring clothes besides tee shirt dresses? and also maybe, you know, stuff to do my hair with? I haven't washed my hair in well over a week and that's normal for me and it doesn't look awful, but it is pretty flat and isn't going to photograph well, and I just...why wouldn't you mention that you want your daughter to accompany you for a professional photoshoot before she got on the plane to see you?
This is, however, very on-brand for my mother and they're her anniversary photos so whatever.
I slept worse here than I do at home which is annoying and exhausting. I haven't had more than three hours of consecutive sleep or more than six hours of cumulative sleep a night since before I left for Vegas on the 12th.

LOL, yes, you'd *think* some photography heads up would make sense...

...I actually go for two weeks (or more, in winter) between washings because I have The Most Agreeable Hair On The Planet. =D

I'm glad the trip went well, and your mom pulling that with the photos sounds very much like my mom. I get no info about anything, except when I purposely dig for details.
I'm sleeping but waking up exhausted. Hopefully getting home and back into a routine will help.

MOTHERS. WHY.

Oh dear! One would think that should be obvious, yes.
I hope you can get some decent sleep back at home!

Hooray for touched-up color!

Since I do the two-step henna/indigo process I just wind up with black hair but the people I've done just henna on--they've gotta be okay with not having their hearts set on a particular shade because...yeah.
I have such respect for people who maintain non-natural hair colors. That takes so much work and attention! How long has your hair been purple?

Indeed. >.<
I spent SO MANY YEARS not dyeing my (naturally medium brown) hair anything but red because I'd had the fear of bleach seared into me, so I didn't try anything else until I first heard about oil-slick dyes (which don't need bleaching first)...maybe two years ago? Could be three? The first time I got my stylist to do streaks in a few colors, and after that we went mostly-purple, although I still have a couple of blue streaks. And I quickly gave up on not bleaching it at all, after all that.
(Once the "am I gonna get/get interviewed for the job opening???" situation is settled, I'm getting my stylist to bleach it more and go for a brighter purple, more like the shade in this icon. We agreed that keeping it fairly low-key-for-purple until then is probably the way to go. The actual manager at the office doesn't care about my hair color or my tattoos, but I don't know who else might be part of the interview process.)
I do tend to have visible roots for longer than I'd like, 'cause I usually go a few weeks longer than would be ideal between appointments. My wallet was certainly happier with red dye from a box. ^^;

That's another nice thing about henna/indigo. What I pay in time I make up for in cheap product. Even the quality stuff only costs me about $10-15 per application and that includes both the henna and the indigo. Cheeeeeeeeeap!
Fingers crossed for the interview.

When I hennaed, I tried a couple of different routes (the bricks from Lush, a couple of boxes from the "health" stores--although then I found out what was mixed in the latter and stopped), but ultimately settled on the $1-or-$2 boxes of plain body-art henna from the Indian grocery, which I then mixed with whatever my recipe was. Happy, happy wallet.
