I read that article in the Atlantic about fanfic too. I totally see your point, although I do agree with the author's discussion of how it is an extremely positive environment in which to write and how that can be really helpful in giving a person the confidence and happiness to keep writing. Although I would never characterize fanfic as "lesser" than other forms of writing, it has definitely helped me improve as a writer in all areas of my life that require writing.

Also, per one of your more recent posts--good luck with the freezer and meat situation!
