Carding

Thank you to [personal profile] naye and [personal profile] wrote_and_writ  who are keeping me supplied with things to share until I get Tweetdeck (or whatever) figured out!

Guardian/adjacent:
I don't even like reading kidfic but this is so sweet it's tempting to write!
Fanart: Dichotomies. Professional vs. Private lives. Chibi porn never fails to make me smile. Gold leaves in autumn. Identity porn. Novel!ZYL with Da Qing. Cat(dog?)-eared bb!SW. Mirror sex.

I have a lot more, but I'm gonna space them out bc I'm not sure when I'll have the spoons to try new software/add-on options.

Today's dump on cm.net.

There's a very real possibility that the U.S. might not have a functioning postal service come July so I'm sending out cards. Nothing special, just old postcards I've held onto for ages and the greeting cards my mom makes. Please let me know if you'd like one and since I'm currently on minimal spoons send me your mailing address in a DM, just in case. Even if you're pretty sure I already have yours.

A few of you already have cards on the way. I have a limited number of international forever stamps and until I know the USPS is going to survive, I don't want to purchase more so international friends, please forgive if I run out before I get to yours.

Guardian/adjacent:
Fanart: I'm sure the rest of this image is very nice, too. Sketch kiss.
Zhu Yilong ELLE photo shoot gif thread.

Untamed/adjacent:
Yiling Laozu I'm The Bad Guy.
The animated kiss that broke everyone's timelines yesterday.

This week's dump on cm.net.

People who post illustrations of their fics on AO3, do you put it in the main body text or in the notes? I might have commissioned a second illustration for Ghost Story from takkyb *cough* and I'm FINALLY posting the first one, too. Better late than never!

Last chapter of Ghost Story posts tomorrow and I'm super sad about it. I understand why I'm sad. It's not surprising or anything. It's just....gah, One more thing to lose, you know? Those chapter comments have been a huge help to keeping me from falling into a pit of despair these past few weeks.

I stayed in bed as late as possible this morning. Woke up at 3am, commented back and forth with [personal profile] naye a bit (thank you, bb). Got back to sleep a bit before 6. Woke up at 7:30 and just ... didn't get up until 10 when I started getting nauseated from hunger. Lying in my beautiful bed (seriously so pretty y'all) I can pretend there's no world outside the curtains. When they're properly closed, I can barely see slivers of my bedroom. It might be a little lonely in there these days, but it's better than what's going on outside.

Guardian/adjacent:
Bai Yu vs. Zhu Yilong leg hair appreciation time
Bai Yu appreciation time. I love that photo so much I wrote a mini-story to go with it.

Not sure why I'm finding less stuff to share lately. Is it my dash or my mood? Not sure.

The car wash outfit story is moving along. I wrote 1,600 words in three hours yesterday (things are not going quite so swimmingly today). I'm inspired and motivated to get some happy porn out there for people in this, our hour of need. I'd like to get it done for posting soon after Ghost Story wraps up.

Which will happen ON THE THIRD of APRIL oh my god. I can't believe only two more chapters! This fic, y'all. Wrote the thing during a break-up, revised it along with my entire life, and posted it during a pandemic. What the fuck, y'all.

Back to the new porn one-shot, though: If you say "within centimeters" of someone that can, theoretically, mean anywhere between one and a hundred centimeters. If you say "within inches" that's a lot more clear. I don't  like using standard measurements when writing fic for Guardian, though. Does "mere centimeters" suffice? or should I go with the not-imo-as-poetic "a few centimeters".

Ask me how thrilled I am that the touchpad on my laptop is flaking out on a regular basis.

Guardian/adjacent:
Bai Yu's lips. I am seriously considering reblogging this for every day I'm in isolation.
A followup to the caught-passing-notes pic.
Zhu Yilong's face acting is fucking incredible. 20-year-old Zhu Yilong looks older than bb!Shen Wei.
Fanart: Not entirely sure what's happening, but I like the visual interaction.

Untamed/adjacent:
Still here for the Modern AUs.
Intentional movement with the cultivators.

Unintentional illustration of Auberon and Jack's alternate forms in Elsewhere (yes, they have different fairy forms in my dream of the longfic I wanna write someday).

Guardian and Guardian-adjacent on Twitter:
Colored stills from the Harper's Bazaar shoot.
Fanart: Cozy in the void.
"Zhao Yunlan could ask for a simple light and Shen Wei would rob the stars"
More behind the scenes from The ReFa Ads. Never over it.
How is Bai Yu so beautiful
ZhuBai summer vacation.

Untamed on Twitter:
Please don't let the Nie brothers movie suck (although if it gives us Nie Huaisang fan fighting, I'll forgive a lot).
"I'm taking off my clothes, you don't want to take off your clothes" behind the scenes.
A Romeo and Juliet AU that I would absolutely read.

I have no idea what this is even from, but I'm here for the kissing and gun kink service.

And this week's dump on cm.net.

Twitter:
Bai Yu writing calligraphy in 2017 and guess what he writes?
Fanart: Kisses. Adorable Zhao Yunlan. Domestic bliss (this inspired a second grocery-shopping scene in Deconstruction)
Never over the Harper's Bazaar photoshoot. (also Toot! Toot! The face of a man who just gave a very satisfying blow job and the face of the man who received it.)
Thank you, Guardian, for giving me a glasses kink.
This hairstyle on Zhu Yilong. (basically SFW porn)
Apparently there was a goth themed Weilan wedding cake at the Guardian Open Broadcast Conference.
The difference between Zhu Yilong's casual arrival at Cannes vs. his cultivated personality on the red carpet. Obvs the slow motion and camera angles help, but wow.
Welp, guess it's time to listen to Flying Across Time again.
Real Question for Writers: How would you describe the mouth/jaw action happening after The Smirk, here? I love Bambi Shen Wei a whole lot, but I'm finally getting the chance to write Badass Shen Wei and I need to know how to convey this ~mood~

Untamed:
I kept forgetting to ask here, so thanks to this thread that I know why Lan Zhan had a Wen clan burn scar.
A perfect gif of my perfect baby boy.

This week's dump on cm.net.

I forgot my power cord at home this morning and my laptop battery is only good for about two hours. So very little writing happened at the coffee shop this morning which sucked because I'm eager to write the two upcoming scenes before Kissing Happens. whine

Queue "we could have had it alllllllllllllllllllll"
A long, unedited clip of Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu during the promotional photoshoot for Guardian. I assume (based on some of the odd costuming choices) that this was shot before filming began? I love seeing them sorta feel each other out.

If you didn't read it on Twitter, please check out [personal profile] glymr's amazing Jin Guangyao/Lan Xichen heartbreak of a fic, now on AO3 (major Untamed spoilers).

Today's link dump on cm.net

After over a week's break from Deconstruction, I jumped back in today with 1.5k words. I'm feeling pretty good about that. Next scene they finally get to the shack! Feeling very good about that!

Today's dump on cm.net.

Meant to get so much done today, including a post for [community profile] history3_trapped about Hong Ye but instead I've been running about town (with a morning trip to a nearby town) because [personal profile] mckitterick decided we need a new car. Which we do, absolutely, despite the fact that there are currently five four-wheeled vehicles registered to an individual at this address, along with three and a half motorized two-wheeled vehicles (the half being an electric bike). We are absolutely Those Neighbors and if we lived in the country, yes they would all be parked in the yard.

Never expected this to be my life (my father doesn't even change his own oil--he doesn't know how and doesn't care to and that's how I am too, tbh), but here we are. I'm waiting on the couch while he tries to talk the dealership in the nearby small town down a couple hundred dollars.

If anyone's curious:
A 1966 Chrysler Newport (was running briefly, "needed something" and is now not running)
A 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle (my promised, currently strewn in pieces across the garage)
A 2005 Chrysler Crossfire (computer went out in November, still waiting on parts bc discontinued limited production car)
A (mid-2000s) Subaru Forester (in dire need of being put to pasture--the passenger door doesn't even work)
A 1995 Honda Civic (currently our best car which is Just Really God Damn Sad)

I'm not even gonna guess at the two-wheeler years, but there's an Aprillia racing scooter--the kind that looks like a tiny motorcycle (wrecked), a repro-retro Vespa (currently sporting a flat tire), and a pre-1970s BMW motorcycle.

Looking at that list and saying "we really do need another car" is such an American thing, but... we really do need another car right now. Especially since he's looking at going down to Houston again next week and I have my doubts about how many times the Civic is gonna survive that trip.

Hmmmmmm, I was kinda hoping that writing this would mean some sort of action on the "are we driving back to Linwood to get that car," front, but...

ETA: We're off to go get a car!

Twitter:

Not-so-new but still-very-hot photoshoot of Zhu Yilong wearing glasses.
I expect this Chinese NYE show is going to break my Twitter and Tumblr feeds.
Oh god oh god why do I love skinny boys so much. Bonus: Skinny boy in a bathtub.

The Hugo Award people really need to let it fuckin' go.

Resting, resting, 1-2-3.

From [personal profile] ride_4ever : "The Internet Archive is the world's largest digital library and the home of the Wayback Machine. Right now there's a 2-to-1 fundraising match going on for the Internet Archive. I have been a monthly donor for several years and I just made an additional donation for the 2-to-1 match. If you can chip in, here's where to do it: Donate to the Internet Archive."

Pole-dancing Zhao Yunlan animation is the perfect cute/sexy combo.
[personal profile] bonibaru , I am feeling you on this tweet bc I did the exact same thing ("That's an...interesting pairing. Wonder how they do that. Oh. Oh, no.")
Zhu Yilong's delts are k-i-l-l-i-n-g me and someone already made fanart of them.
Rough but very sweet kissing animation.
These earrings remind me of that piece of Weilan art by Breeze Wong.

Speaking of Breeze Wong, I took my print of Shen Wei's Dream in for framing yesterday. Ordered it with a textured black frame, orange linen top mat with a dark blue mat underlay and I think it's gonna look so good.

I know playlists aren't for everyone, but I am a teensy bit disappointed that nobody has yelled at me for the first song on my Zhao Yunlan playlist.

Hadn't written anything new in well over a week and was feeling itchy so I started Canadian Shack today. The official title (which I think will probably stick) is The Deconstruction of Hei Pao Shi but I promise it's not going to be as angsty as that sounds. Well, not all of it, anyway. My first hurt/comfort fic, y'all! Wish me luck!

The art card offer is closed for now, but if anyone wants the tea canister with the angsty Zhubai theme, lemme know. I can email pics if you're interested. I'll spring for domestic postage, but would appreciate halfsies reimbursement for sending internationally.
