Maybe it's my not-so-latent Marxist tendencies. =D Whatever, I haven't seen most of them and would like to be able to offer (and request) more than just Guardian for the Sundial exchange.

Sent Ghost Story revisions back to beta for final edit. I'm less pressed to start posting this thing before the end of the year since I'll have two fics post this month (dSSS, Secret!Virgin) and there seem to be a lot of Guardian WIPs right now, anyway. So if it happens it happens but I'm not going to push for it.

My second reader reports that no, all the porny parts of Ghost Story were fine and welcome so huzzah! I don't need to figure out how to work in those character developments/plot points via means that aren't, you know, fucking.

Looked at my options for enrolling in a health care plan for 2020 and the cheapest option, a catastrophic policy with an $8,000 deductible, is $420.35/month. Four hundred twenty dollars a month for someone who does not have an income. So I guess I won't have health insurance next year until I find employment that offers it. Good times, good times. America fuck yeah. Best country in the world and all that.

I'm very worried about this! No health insurance in this country is a quick way to bankruptcy, but I'm sure I don't need to tell you that! I even worry about going to the doctor despite having health insurance. That's how awful the system in this country is. I so desperately wish for a single-payer system. Catastrophic health insurance is not health insurance, and it's absurd.

Are you legally married to your partner, and does he have any health insurance that could cover you? Even DP often qualify for family coverage under many plans.

Also you may be qualified for medicaid?

I'm trying not to be worried about it but I am. A lot. We are not married and definitely not going to be. Our state doesn't cover domestic partners because we're in a super conservative state. And I don't qualify for medicaid, no. Already checked. Yayyyyyyyyyy.

There is a chance I'll have employment at some point early next year. We're waiting on funding to come through from the Chinese organization that invited him to Beijing. But we don't know for sure if that'll happen, or when.

Naye super helpfully linked to a bunch of Bai Yu ads for me in the comments of the party post when I confessed I'm not that familiar with his work outside of Guardian, other than Detective L (which I haven't seen). Given what I know of your tastes, I suspect the Maybelline "Red on Fire," L'Officiel "Hommes," and Nivea Men ads will be of especial interest.

I'm so sorry to hear about the insurance situation. I'm actually on Medicare, and I was smacked in the face with a surprise $1200 bill this August for a breast biopsy I had to have done in May 2018, at which they told me I would only need to pay the $150 I was giving them that day (which was dear enough). Needless to say, for today's mammogram, my sister and I went to another imaging center entirely.

I want to say I'm shocked, but... I'm not anymore. >.< I'm so sorry there isn't a more civilized setup for you to keep health insurance. The depth of my despair over US health insurance could only be greater if I actually had to live there. :/
