Having an awkward time figuring out how to leave comments and kudos on the dSSS fic. I mean, there's not a lot of us, and I feel like it's pretty easy to figure out who wrote what simply by taking a look at who left kudos on a fic? Or can you leave kudos on your own fic? That would be HILARIOUS oh my god. I'm not trying it, tho.
Last night was my last sleep in my bed until after the New Year so I stayed in my gorgeous, perfect, beloved bed for nearly four hours after waking (at 5:30) before I had to get up because I was 1. dying for tea, and 2. needing a bathroom. Between Lady Hotspur, Yuletide and dSSS at least I have plenty of reading material.
Decided to go with the sparkly sheath dress instead of the boob-i-licious one for NYE. As mentioned, my boobs look real good in it, but it's just... well it's Just Very Beige and I think it'll work better for a summer occasion. Also, I know my comfortable wedge heel dancing boots will look acceptable (not great, but acceptable) with the sparkly dress and they absolutely would not look good with the beige.
Maybe I'll wear the beige one if I wind up having a belated 50th birthday party this summer.

Oh my gosh, SAME. :D Even in Guardian fandom our (delightful and wonderful!) penchant for leaving kudos on everything (which I reiterate is great!) means revealing authors through process of elimination. (I too checked to see if I could leave kudos on my own fic! For the sake of completeness! But I can't. There's no kudos option at all on our own fics. Unless we log out, of course defeating the purpose of subterfuge.)

Xiao Zhan is the same age as me but Wang Yibo is six years younger!? As someone who correctly predicted that Zhu Yilong must be older than Bai Yu (apparently a lot of people got that wrong?) but both had to be pretty close to me, I consider this a huge blemish on my age-prediction record, haha. Though I haven't actually watched The Untamed and Wang Yibo just kind of looks 25-ish (and Xiao Zhan, 18 at the most ^^) in stills, so.

I've kind of guessed the authors of most of the Yuletide Guardian fics I read. Ngl, the kudos/comments helped when I was wavering between two possibilities. (I just really love guessing games, lols. Also - honest question - I don't get why an anon period even exists? Anonymous author or not, I only ever read what I read, so it makes absolutely no impact... Is it different for others?)
Had no idea what a cow creamer was before I read that thread (was too lazy to look it up whenever I encountered it in novels), so that was pretty enlightening XD

Love your thoughts on Zhang Shi. I really want to read a fic about this! Have you seen one? I just want to read about this situation from all possible angles. He does know, he doesn't know, he finds out, when he finds out, how, etc.

Re: Shen Wei and Zhang Shi. You know, now that you mention it, I don't think I've seen even a single ficlet that deals with when/if SW knew. There are a few about Zhao Xinci and ZS and/or Zhao Yunlan and ZS, but nothing at all with SW and ZS. Hell, even stories that mention anything about ZXC and SW's interactions pre-series are few and far between. I guess it makes sense cos those are hardly popular characters/relationships, but, still... Wish I had any kind of creative writing ability left in me so that my many, many headcanons would manifest in the form of fic instead of comments/meta /o\

I used to avoid RPF, too, but I've read a few lately that are more like roles than actual people and I'm enjoying them. Like this BTS fic I just started (god damn it boni) where it's obviously not the actual people because it talks about them going to school and holding down menial jobs. That's not their real lives ofc--it's just attaching faces and maybe some random aspects of a cultivated personality played for public consumption. The fics I can't enjoy seem real, like the ones that deal with state-sponsored homophobia and the illegality of their relationship. I love my angst, but only when it's fantasy angst. I hate thinking about, say, Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu actually being in love because it would be so incredibly dangerous and ruinous for them. I don't judge people for liking those stories, they're just my own personal squick.

Hmm, I did read a T-rated RPF a couple weeks ago which was an HS AU (How to get the boy when you're broke, I think it was called - I believe someone rec'ced it here recently, too) and you're right, it was actually kind of fun - probably cos it was just like any other teen rom-com, only with the characters having the actors' names.
I hate thinking about, say, Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu actually being in love because it would be so incredibly dangerous and ruinous for them.
You know, I think this is one of the main reasons I avoid them, too! I also live in a country where same-sex relationships are illegal (not just "not legal," like in, say, Japan, but actually illegal), so I know exactly how life-ruining it would be to be not-straight in China (actually, no, China is probably worse, at least here you "only" get, like, 2 years hard labour or something). And for celebrities? Yikes! That's... *Shudders*
I don't judge people for liking those stories, they're just my own personal squick.
