Sunday Snippet
Final beta'd chapters of Ghost Story* are arriving apace and I plan post the first chapter on my birthday (the 31st). It'll be done before that, but I figure another couple week's delay won't hurt and I like the sentimentality of it.

Actually, I'm waffling about a few things regarding Ghost Story, so if people want to hit me with their opinions? Please?
And snippet! A bit of comfort to make up for last week's hurt:
Zhao Yunlan, one arm firmly wrapped around his shoulders, the other holding his head gently against his chest, shifted to wrap the rest of himself around Shen Wei’s body. He leaned against the door, Shen Wei huddled awkwardly between his legs. It was the same posture he’d used to hold Da Qing and Shen Wei wished he could shift into a form that allowed him to absorb fully into Zhao Yunlan’s comforting person. His fear, frustration, and fatigue bled out of his body into the warmth pressed against him.
“Oh,” he whispered, senselessly. “Oh. Oh.”
“Yeah,” Zhao Yunlan sighed, and stroked Shen Wei’s hair.
ETA: I should mention "Life's Waiting to Begin" is a song lyric title and I'm just... idk, I love the fandom tradition of song lyric titles but I'm not sure I want to attach one to my first long fic? Or maybe that makes it extra appropriate? I am giving more thought to this than my current revisions what is wrong with me?

And I am very reluctant to read chaptered stories, because I lose track, plus it's a huge pain to have to delete the ebook and re-download, and so on. So I hope that answer isn't discouraging, because I only want to encourage your posting your story!

Fwiw I tend to prefer song lyric titles only for shorter stories unless the song is really appropriate and fitting to the story. When a song is the theme song of the fic, then I'll use it, but if it's just a good lyric I'll generally save it (...or maybe I'm lying?! my title choosing process tends to be either one title comes to me and won't be budged, or else I panic and overthink it up until the point that I'm actually posting and AO3 won't let me without a title...)

I feel like I'm in the same boat here, currently in Very Much Option B although I have a sinking suspicion that Ghost Story is gonna stick and I'm gonna wind up being back in Option A? over the same story?

And my vote for the title is kinda obvious, haha. (I'm not overly fond of song titles/lyrics as fic titles, tbh. I've seen them being used in place of/as a part of the synopsis sometimes, and that strikes me as cooler, somehow?)
