It's called songfic, y'all. And certain populations have been doing it for free for a long time. But of course, you know, it's just fanfic. *hrmf*

I just checked Fanlore. It has the definition I know, but it also says "works inspired by a song while not directly quoting it may sometimes be considered a type of songfic as well". The more you know!

I knoooow! He was so tentative, and so careful. The worst part is that it doesn't make in-universe sense *at all*. The only reason she wasn't allowed to kiss him here is because the stupid show wanted to pair her with someone else, so god forbid she kiss Jingran first. Arrrrgghhh.
