I understood the issues surrounding black people in the U.S. not wanting to wear masks, but I hadn't yet put that together with a responsibility of white people to pave the way for its acceptance. Personally, I'm taking this opportunity (provided I ever get to leave the house again) to flip the bird at surveillance culture, but this is a more, uh, human motivation. eta: some Tumblr thoughts on masks.

Thank you again undeadrobins for giving me the prompt (with extra side of knives) I needed to outline the rest of Deconstruction. I need to finalize when/where certain things happen, but I got the general scope of things and 3k words done this week. And right now our little Canadian Shack is full of domestic bliss. Enjoy:

Zhao Yunlan tsked and tipped his head. “Apt,” he said before taking a long swallow. Shen Wei’s eyes followed the motion. Zhao Yunlan grinned and gestured toward Shen Wei with the bottle. “Proceed, my good man. Allow me to appreciate the lovely view.”

Shen Wei shook his head with a smile and lifted the axe again. He was warm now, but things would be different in a few weeks. He didn’t remember what it was like to be unable to warm himself with dark energy, but he didn’t look forward to it. He wanted to get through as much of this pile as he could before the first snowfall.

Yay! Luckily, McKitterick has a collection of masks for working with chemicals, car restoration, etc. But as soon as my studio is converted over to sewing I'm gonna be churning them out when I can.
