Yesterday I didn't have quite enough brain to write (I tried, not ready yet I guess) but I decided I had the energy to do some food prep. Halfway through pureeing soup, my (ancient, inherited) Vitamix died. All internet information pointed to a dead motor (or possibly broken transmission but on a 30-year old appliance who's gonna replace either). Had to throw out all the soup I'd already done because I was blending it in stages and almost all the seasoning had already gone in the first batch. So not only did I lose the blender, I didn't even wind up with usable soup.

It was a(nother) day.

Anyone need the two pitchers (wet and dry) for a Vitamix 5000 (the model they stopped making 20 years ago)?

I was just reminded that this coming weekend is Labor Day here in the US. Ha ha ha ha ha for so many reasons but it made me check to see if the Kansas City Renaissance Festival (where I "worked" for nearly 20 years) was, indeed, planning to still open and no, no they are not. The announcement is so typical of the management, it was a good reminder why I quit.

Hmmm good thought. I may need to change my phone lockscreen to something zhubai related, I've certainly been obsessed with them long enough...

My lockscreen is a Zhubai manip (the one with Bai Yu holding the beer bottle to his mouth while a slightly damp Zhu Yilong hangs over him) and my wallpaper is that manip of Shen Wei grabbing Zhao Yunlan by the lapels in the lab.

Very nice! I very rarely change my backgrounds (3x in the whole time I've used cell phones) so my current images are from... 5 and 3 yrs ago. Wow I've had this phone for a while.

A spacious outdoor venue that is always crowded as fuck. That's why I don't even like to go anymore. Or, just with age, the shine has worn off. I really just want incense, candy almonds and then I want to leave. And then incense place sold to someone else and the ones I bought from the new person wouldn't stay lit, so I don't even want that anymore.

SO CROWDED! And I don't believe for a single god damn second that they would do anything to control the crowds or protect their workers.

Honestly, once I'd worked there for a few years it was tedious to go out as just a patron. It's like once you know how the sausage gets made... but yeah I miss the candy almonds, too.

What a drag about the soup, why do these things happen.
Bai Yu doesn't...get to me the way Zhu Yilong does, but it's very comforting to look at the way he just seems to be enjoying the hell out of himself in every possible context. (The obvious next sentence is "I can see why Zhu Yilong fell for him so hard...").
