Sunday

My eyes are a little better today. Gonna do my best to not stay on the computer all day today to make up for all the time I wasn't able to. Wish me luck. I miss my friends! I miss writing! I miss reading! I miss looking at pretty people!

I want so much to sign up as a volunteer to beta or cheerleader for Sundial Exchange, but between my hand and eye problems I feel like my body isn't reliable enough to commit to something like that. I purposefully didn't adopt any writing goals for this year. In fact I made a conscious decision not to write something for January (good thing, too, turns out). Intentional failure is so much better than missing a goal. I highly encourage intentional failure as a regular practice--it prepares one nicely for age/illness.

Thought I'd try an experiment of wearing my glasses while using my computer to see if that helped, but after just this long my eyes are already feeling weird. I took off my glasses and now the screen looks curved and is making me motion sick so I guess that's enough screen time for a while. Guess it's time to go make something with those miraculously-not-yet-completely-slimy greens.

I'm glad your eyes are a little better and I hope they continue that way! And I hope you can maybe find something fun to listen to even if you can't have much screen time at the moment.

That *is* a lovely thing to listen to!

I'm not sure I'd call that "intentional failure." More like "knowing when to say no and when to say yes to opportunities"... :) Which is indeed a valuable skill!

I MISS YOU MANKA (please stay away until you feel better).

I am so glad you have made those kind of decisions for yourself. It sucks, but it's still brilliant that you have set patterns/goals for yourself that encourage you to look after yourself.

OH! β™₯β™₯β™₯ I hate that it is because your eyes aren't you letting process stories the way you prefer, but I'm so glad my podfic can offer a distraction.

It sucks that your eyes are bothering you :(
I'm truly sorry.

Go easy on your eyes, take good care, we're here (and unlike the greens, probably not slimy, at least no more than usual) when you feel better <3

Intentional failure for the WIN! I do that too. I hope your eyes get better; I've been trying to learn to be OK with some fuzziness, but that's not optimal when editing.

I'm wishing you luck, but also hoping you don't see this comment for a good, long while 'cos you're successfully staying away!

Ah, but it's not failure. It's success! Because you met your plans, and you can be proud that you judged your energy well.

I hope your eyes and wrist will continue to get better. <3
