Zhao Yunlan leaned his ear close, frowning.

“Sorry, what was that? I couldn’t quite make it out.”

“Shut up,” said Shen Wei, laughing and trying to pull his hand away.

“No, no, I’m serious. What did you say?”

Sighing heavily and rolling his eyes, Shen Wei refused to look at him.

“Kiss you. I want to kiss you some more.”

Ugh y'all they're so cute in this I can't even and I'm writing them. 😂

It's such fun when one writes something one adores, isn't it?

I was thinking about the tweets about OTW. They are doing themselves no favors by moving so slowly, not least because they leave themselves open to criticisms like this. But I think this criticism is in the context of the backlash every year against their fundraising. I always end up feeling stuck in the middle on this topic, haha, because on the one hand I love AO3 and think it's necessary and I think their fundraising makes sense, on another hand they absolutely must do better on racism, on a third hand I think purity wankers and people who want nothing done both willfully conflate discussion of AO3's issues with racist fanworks with the antis' fantastical claims of child abuse content, and I'd have to be at least an octopus to try to delineate all the issues here. *Wry grin*

Hm. You must be seeing different takes on the OTW stuff. The criticisms I'm seeing are from lawyers, archivists, and people who work professionally with NFPs responding to the responses that came out of the recent meeting/discussion with board members and volunteers. As opposed to the usual backlash I see which mostly consists of ~BUT PEDOPHILES~

From where I'm standing this is a different argument entirely.

UGH why do I try. I just tried to ezplain to someone why people saying AO3 has to do better on racism are not the same as antis, and she told me that AO3 has filters and that I don't want to be responsible for curating my experience. I really kind of hate seeing people use defending AO3 as an excuse to be dismissive of racism. *lies facedown*
