I'm 2,300 words into a PWP that I started yesterday and it wants to be in present tense so bad. I don't like writing in present tense, but I'm having problems keeping this one in past tense. I keep switching back without noticing and it's annoying as hell. I suspect a lot of the trouble is it's a remix of a fic written in present tense so when I go back to check for details to include I'm thrown back into that tense and ughhh.

No fear, I'm still making progress with Hellbent. I've only got one more chapter to go and am giving myself a break before I head into the final stretch. I finished another porn scene from it, so have some spice. Spoiler, I guess, Zhao Yunlan eventually discovers Envoy is Shen Wei. 😆

Shen Wei leaned heavily onto him as he climbed into bed.  With a shaky laugh he dropped down to the pillow and covered his face with a hand. He looked happy, but still shy. Settling between Shen Wei’s legs Zhao Yunlan traced a finger down his belly.

“This is fun,” he said with a smile. “Being able to see you. But I can turn off the lights if you’d be more comfortable.”

Shen Wei just shook his head and Zhao Yunlan happily returned focus to the now fully-erect cock in front of him. Holding it at the base, he ran the flat of his tongue up the shaft in several long, slow licks.

“I like having two first times with you,” he said. “Kinda makes up for not getting one sooner.”

I feel this SO MUCH, omigod. I'm writing some things for the wishlist fest and I swear I'm switching between present and past five or six times in 2K words, why can't my brain settle into one or the other? AARGH.
