It's the little things

After scouring the stores here in Lawrence and when I was visiting my parents in Indianapolis, I finally found my perfect travel purse for my NYC trip last night in Kansas City. It's a nice medium size bag with a full zipper closure at the top, and a zipper pouch that holds wallet contents (so I don't have to carry a separate wallet) on the side of the bag that lays against my hip. Oh, and a cross-over strap so I don't have to worry about the bag sliding off my shoulder.

I'm quite pleased and relieved to find something that had everything I was looking for. I am a tad embarassed by the "Liz Claiborne" metal thing on the front, but it's small. And it was on a sale table for $35.

In the middle of all my life bullshit that's going on right now, its nice to take comfort in finding the perfect purse.

Never doubt the power of good shopping karma :)!

PS: did you get my email about Farscape?

Um, no! I didn't! Re-send, please? Or feel free to post a comment here...

Sometimes, it's the little things that ground us in this life.

That is nice. Congrats, L.

Maybe I will see it at school?

Dunno if I'll be using it much when I'm not travelling. It's not the style of purse I usually carry. My standard purse style more resembles something like this (http://www.claires.com/product.asp?name=prod&color=white&rcid=21&id=1634&scid=27). =)

Awe-some.

The kitty purse deserved a two syllable response :)

I do get lots of comments on mine when I carry it. Mine's last year's version with a red strap and bow instead of pink and flower. I prefer it over the new one. Darling!

Y'know, I always cut the tags off my shirts... how about drilling out the rivets for the LC tag? It's a pleasantly anarchic thing to do, too.

ooh, or glue a cool little other metal thingy on it?

I did that with an American Express free messenger bag, I glued a rainbow flag patch over the AE logo.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-05-10 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I've already seriously considered it, yes. Just a matter of finding something cool to put in it's place...

I like R.S.'s idea - a nice rainbow flag or something. Of course, in NYC, no one will notice.

Um, not that I'm picky or anything, but "it's"? Who is this woman writing in CR's journal?

Fixed. Thanks.

What with leaving my car lights on, locking in my car keys, forgetting items at my folk's house, and other air-headed examples too embarssing to mention here, a misplaced apostrophe isn't so awful in my grand scheme of things at the moment.

But thank you for bringing it to my attention. =)

If it is held by a rivet, what size hole will it leave?

We could set you up with several pieces of metalwork, a screw rivet set, and the ability to swap them out at whim.

Design time!

Dunno that I'm willing to put that much time into a travel purse, but I'll think about it. =)

I have no clue what size hole it'll leave. I haven't really looked that closely at it. Too much other stuff going on right now. I was just grateful to find the damn thing and have it cost less than $80.
