Woo...woo...woozy

Oooh. Feeling a little nauseated and headachey. I hope this is just dehydration and not a harbinger of illness. No Illness!!! My body is being all weird lately. I somehow weigh seven pounds more than I did on Friday morning, and that, coupled with this slight vertigo is making me wonder WTF is up. OK, so I'm retaining water, obviously, and this weird headache/nausea just came on in the last fifteen minutes. Very strange. I'm drinking lots of water in the hopes that I can flush this out, along with those seven mystery pounds.

I didn't get nearly enough costuming done on my Friday off and I'm starting to get a little panicky. At this point I am hermitting myself until further notice. Please consider me off the social calendar until after Middle Eastern Weekend. Ahem, [livejournal.com profile] angelbedwell this does not include you. I will see you Wednesday. [livejournal.com profile] cedarsong, [livejournal.com profile] everflame, [livejournal.com profile] starwyse, I gotta beg off tonight. Sorry.

This was a pretty decent weekend at faire.

I got a lovely wordless compliment from a patron yesterday who bought me a rose and requested a photo. Sometimes guys can be so fucking sweet. I have no idea who he was, but he was so grateful for the attention and flirting while his friend tried to figure out how to work his camera. I made lots of comments about how his friend obviously didn't know how to play with the buttons or turn things on, which made the friend more flustered and finally I started in on how I was going to have to start charging him for the time. He finally got the photo (I do hope it turned out well) and I gave him a very good mark. It was nearly a perfect heart shape. [livejournal.com profile] thedarkbear gave me a rose and a lovely sentiment, too...awwwww. Thanks, hon.

Saturday wasn't so great, but could've been worse. Very early in the day I slipped down a hill while trying to save a fuzzy caterpillar from Certain Death. Last fucking time I do that, I can tell you. My right foot slipped on some muddy moss and as I fell, my left leg folded up underneath me and I landed (hard) with my leg pinned underneath(think The World tarot card). Luckily I'm a pretty flexible girl. I also took a lot of the fall on my left hand (not my right, thank gods). I sat there, rattled, for a moment, thinking "damn, now I'm going to be muddy all day" when I looked up to see Madam looking at me rather horrified. She asked something along the lines of "Did you break your leg?" so I looked down and realized my left leg was nowhere in sight. At that point my body registered "OW OW OW" (nothing like a visual aid to get reality to set in) and everyone was nice enough to close in so the patrons wouldn't see me start to blubber. I made an assisted hobble back to Lady Hawk's and sat on some ice and got some mega-energy work from Lady Hawk. Madam and Lady Hawk cleaned off the chemise and we discovered my bottom half was miraculously unmuddied. Amazing! By the end of the day I was walking fine and Sunday morning I had no lasting damage apart from a slightly stiff hamstring. I'm so, so lucky.

It was very nice to be met with expressions of concern by other performers for the rest of the day (and into Sunday for that matter). We might be a bunch of socially maladjusted geeky outcasts, but we do take care of each other.

I got to see a lot of shows this weekend (a rarity) and I enjoyed all three of them! It was really wonderful to actually Sit Down and Watch a few shows. And although Sunday was The Day Of Errands And Much Running About, I never managed to find the hammered dulcimer dude to buy a CD. I need to find what is his schedule. I apologize to Madam for disappearing on her so often yesterday. I was a bad brothel employee. So sorry. It won't happen again. Stupid stuff, but at least I got it all out of the way in one day.

I made the cover of Ratman Photos! Woot! There's no special banner for making the cover, so I'll use the standard "Shot by the Ratman" banner.

UPDATE: I have a banner! Thanks, Harold!

Rock!

Of *course* we're going to be concerned and make sure that you're doing all right. What kind of family would we be if we didn't look after our other family members. We care.:) And I was very glad to hear that you had no lasting affects from the fall.

I am a very, *very* lucky bunny. Good thing I'm naturally flexible and haven't let the yoga slide too much lately.

[identity profile] emeder.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I keep wanting to try yoga, but have no had the time, nor will I have the time/money to go to personal classes.*pout*

If you're interested in simple stretches and postures, I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] rougewench or I would be happy to show you basic stuff that doesn't require a spotter. =)

That would be awesome!

[identity profile] emeder.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I do greatly appreciate the offer and hopefully will be able to take you up on it. I *really* need to increase my flexibility if I want to do with my body what I'm hoping to.

Cool! Now the problem is finding *when*...

I think I still have a tape for a series of easy, beginning poses from my old instructor. She was 60+years, had been doing real Yoga, not this pilates mix stuff, for over 30 years and could bend in ways I haven't been able to do since I was 6 years old! If you think it would help I will try and find it and make a copy. She retired from teaching so I think it would be ok.

Not being able to do yoga again is the only bad thing about the new hip, some muscles I just don't want to stretch anymore or the hip will fall apart :) :) :).

Yeah, it'll definitely have to be after faire. How many times a week should yoga be done?

Re: That would be awesome!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you know, ideally every day. Me, I get some stretching in once a week if I'm lucky. =(

Every day?

[identity profile] emeder.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I take it, then, that these exercises are relatively short?

Re: Every day?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
They're as long or as short as you want to make them. It's up to you how many poses you do and how long you hold them. Nice, eh?

Yes, very nice. Good to have something that's that "flexible". I made a pun. He he.

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
wheee! that's a great pic. You're developing the Madame smirk.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG, you're right! Wooot!

=D

[identity profile] eithne-star.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
I think the hammered dulcimer guy is usually up in the Wildwood between 12 and 1ish. I usually pass him on the way to the Soup Kitchen. If you find out how much his CDs are let me know.

"Socially maladjusted geeky outcasts"? Yeah, probably, but we're okay with that. *wink*

Oh, and by the way, you have INCREDIBLY soft lips.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
The CDs are $15. I know that much 'cos I've passed him while he was playing but I want to ask about the CDs before I buy one. I'll check for him before parade on Saturday (assuming I don't have a show).

Mwah! ;)

[identity profile] pointoforigin.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yikes, I'm so glad you didn't get badly hurt.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 01:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. Me, too. Thank gods for yoga.
