Winter Blues
I don't know if my post yesterday set it off or what, but last night I was struck down with a bad case of the Blue Fugues. It sucked. Bad. It was one of those times where I really wanted to cry but I knew that would just give me a stuffed up nose and I wouldn't be able to sleep. And right then, sleeping through it was the best thing I could do.
I woke up this morning feeling a little better, and I have some ideas about what I need to do before I get pulled down into the dark.
A few weeks ago I posted about needing to get things done and I haven't done much of anything on that front. My sewing machine is still in the shop (hopefully out next week) but I desperately need to get the sewing room cleaned up before I start a new project anyway. I offered to take on some sewing for a friend of mine because I know if I am forced to sew something for someone other than myself it'll help get me in gear.
I also need to start cooking more. I've been eating a lot of sandwiches, noodles, and Burrito King lately (gods I love Burrito King). Not only has hindered the Post-Faire weight loss, it's not exactly boosting my energy levels, either. More greens. More fruits. Winter fruits are finally in season and that's good because I love me my pink grapefruit. Speaking of, anyone know a kid in either of the Lawrence Public School bands? They sell amazing grapefruit this time of year.
Finally, my apartment: A mess. I hate living in messiness. It's not dirty (although I could use a vacuum cleaner), but it is kind of sloppy. I don't like living in something less than tidy.
So there, three things, and they're all related to my basic need and desire for domesticity. I'm a picky little house mouse and I should remember that and pay more attention to it. Clean. Cook. Create. Must. Must. Must.
OK.

That's one of the first things for me when I'm Down.
Oh! and you should learn something new, like meadmaking.
Hugs!

And someone just approached me about doing some sewing for a community theater show.
And my machine is still in the shop.

Agh. Sucky. What's wrong with it?
And methinks sewing for a good cause like community theatre definitely takes precedence over making me even sexier.
;^)
Seriously? New hobbies never hurt, especially when combatting seasonal bleahs. I have a similar reaction to summer that you do to winter. I just feel kinda cruddy. I usually distract myself with lots and lots of gaming.

I wanna learn how to do pinstriping. That's the next Big Learning Endeavor.

As in, pinstriped suits?

Okay, that'd be just about the coolest hobby ever. I bow to your intense coolness.

I will likely get back into writing the novel. Create. Create. Create. I agree wholeheartedly.
