I'm fine, mostly
I'm sure most folks have already read everyone else's stories about The Weather Trauma, so I'll just say: I'm fine. Fetish is fine. The cars are mostly fine. I would have made a phone post except LJ seems to have changed the phone numbers again. Why?
Since the siren system got knocked out of commission for a large portion of Sunday, I suffered a small bit of emotional and mental damage from listening to four hours of Trail Mix on KANU before the sirens came back online. I've mostly recovered from that, although I'm still a bit twitchy. Spare me from having to suffer that experience ever again. The only thing that made it bearable was the "music" (I use the term loosely) was broken up every fifteen minutes by weather and damage updates.
One positive thing about being stuck on my couch all day was I finished
angel_in_purple's shawl. Although after reading
scary_manilow's post, I feel like I should have maybe gone downtown to help clean up Replay Lounge. I feel like a bad citizen.
Having yesterday off work was nice. I ran my errands that I didn't get to do on Sunday, although I still failed to make it to the grocery store. Pickings are getting a little slim at La Casa Chernobyl. Saturday was also a lovely day with
grnvixen,
rougewench, and shopping.
On a personal note, I feel adrift lately. Disconnected. I want to get past this constant dull ache of alone. It's tiring. And irritating. Speaking of irritating, I'm feeling a bit pissy towards a couple people. I will tell you if it's you, so don't ask. I'm not going to go into it online, here or in email.
Two feelings I don't like and I'm not accustomed to: Loneliness and irritation at friends.

Many congratulations on completing the shawl. I can only imagine that was a tremendous amount of knitting.

Tonight is the last meeting of that night class that kept me from tying one on Feb 14. I wonder how many will show up? Just those of us who are feeling lonely and not travelling, I would guess.

Excuse my total ignorance, but...weather trauma?
Sorry you're lonely and irritated with friends. :^(

It was pretty exciting on Sunday. The city of Lawrence was declared a disaster area.

Ah...so, kind of like my office on Sunday, then? I had a microburst of programming manuals and notes. Also, the neighbors reported terrible noises from above them. Stuff like, "WORK, YOU PIECE OF CRAP! ARG! STUPID DAMNED JAVASCRIPT!" The Girlfriend claims she was a dark cloud over the computer. Certain local religious philosophers believe it may be a sign of the end times.
It was pretty terrible, but we're cleaning up.
