Five dollars to see the crazy woman with her hair on fire

Seriously, it's nutty here today. I keep running around, stamping out little fires. Augh! Stomp-stomp-stomp. At least it made the morning go by fast. I'm just now getting around to drinking my coffee, if that gives you any idea. Kee-rist.

Happy June, ya'll! I'm finally hitting my stride in my "oh gods I love this time of year" cycle. I went outside yesterday and the air smelled slightly moist and vibrant and summery. The trees, grasses, foliage of all sorts are greeen green green. The sky doesn't completely darken until after nine o'clock. This is My Time. I love it.

I got um....$3.38 in loose change in my desk. What does that buy me?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-06-01 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
$3.38 in change gets you an icon of crazy lady, but no flaming hair.

Hey works for me, that's one damn fine crazy lady.

Yay! June is here! It is my favorite month. I turn my keys in today and check out for the end of the school year. I turn a year older later this month. The weather is so fine. It is the GREEN part of summer (rather than the brown part). What's not to love?

It is my favorite month

Mine, too! Can you tell? =D

Do you take Paypal?

Gotta see that action. Happy June back at ya, I'm right there with you.
And I'm getting baby green grape tomatoes on my vines, and my herbs are going gangbusters....and I constantly smell of eau d'OFF.

OFF. Yum, yum.

I've always been partial to Green Ban (http://www.kokogm.com/Products/gb-002.html), but I worry it's not enough to repel all mosquitos and I'm increasingly worried about West Nile Virus anymore. I know someone who contracted it two years ago. *shudder*

That's one I haven't tried. I've used one that is primarily citronella-based, but didn't help much.
I'm particularly tasty, I guess.
B-vitamins help, ingesting lots of garlic helps, but nothing works like good ol'DEET, or original formula Skin-So-Soft (NOT the crap that Avon sells under its bug-protection banner now).
Since I'm outdoors in the park all summer, I've tried it all.
West Nile is scary, but I'm usually more concerned with Lyme disease.

I try to avoid thinking AT ALL about ticks. Guh.

This will be the first faire season that I think I'll be starting off my morning with a good spritz of DEET. Bleh.

bugs!

I've been having good luck at Fairesite with
Herbal Insect Repellent from Burt's bees.

Smells good, too.

Yeah, but last year we actually had a WINTER that killed off the bugs. This year, I'm not so confident. I'm concerned about the insect population out there this coming season. Might be scary.

But there's a bright side to everything...maybe the skeeters will carry off the ocarina wagon.

Repellent: I'm tempted to make my own mix, now that I have access to my Master's Pharmacy Lab (and his know-how)!

Ocarina: Ow! Just hurt myself laughing! Ow!

And as soon as I replied, I saw that you had been given a flaming crown. Hella cool.

I had fun making it while teaching myself photomanipulation.

I'm still a crude hand at it, but practice will change that.

It's a delightfully evil skill. Reality's overrated anyway.

OFF... the perfect fuel to start a campfire. And you can direct the flame. ;)

My family and I have been spending a great deal of time out at the house site and it is bugapalooza out there. Not to mention poison ivy central. I have had the best of luck with Skinsation and it smells decent as well.

Who makes it? I can't find anything online that is a bug repellant...just a soap or shampoo.
