Week #1 recap

As everyone has reported, the weather was glorious. It made Monday enjoyable--far and away better than merely "survivable." I'm exhausted to the point that I can't remember what things happened which days, so here are random high- and low-lights.

  • Chess Match went fabulously well all three days. Knock wood.
  • Hurray for fabulous soups. Oh Em Gee all three were fantabulous.
  • I gave a patron (a stranger, even!) a pup tent.
  • [livejournal.com profile] gamera_spinning's new garb is teh hawt.
  • Mini-yak works wonderfully. I think, though, I must make modifications to the garland. It's too big. =(
  • My white chemise got terribly stained. I must make a new one by the end of the week to replace it.
  • The guy from Tartanic might have an ego the size of Brazil, but that's ok--they put on a damn fine show. I need a CD.
  • Playing with the French court at the end of the day gives me a chance to interact with characters outside the brothel on a more than superficial level. Luckily, the French court is pretty damn cool.
  • The orange eyeshadow was a good costuming decision.
  • I sat on my mug sometime Sunday. I didn't realize it until Monday morning when I realized I had a purple bruise the size of my fist right below my right butt cheek. Ow.
  • After waking up over an hour early on the last day of a three-day weekend to That Time Of The Month, a bruised bottom, and a dead mouse, a $4.25 latte at the Cup and Chaucer is worth every penny.

Thank you! I was pleased. And it was soooo much more comfortable.

The mini-yak did indeed look good (along with the rest of you, of course).

Here's hoping your bruised ass feels better today.

It does, thanks. It deepened to a dark violet with black speckles. It would look lovely with Cynette's colors. This time next week I imagine I'll match Notty.

I think I saw the two of you, briefly, at a amphitheater way at the far end (from the main entrance) of the festival. Would the two of you both have been in on the same show on Saturday? I took my girlfriend and her kids there.

If it was in the 3:30 to 4:00 P.M. range, that would have been the Chess Match and yes we are.

I have a matching bruise and I wasn't even there. Maybe it's a sympathy bruise? I have no idea where it could have come from.

The other bruises... yeah, I remember where I got them. ;)

Sorry about the too-big on the wreath. :( I'd be happy to help with any adjustments for you.

I'm going to run by Michael's to see if they have any dark red leather strips for ties in back. That way I don't have to keep winding it everytime I take it off and put it on...the wire is already starting to poke through the tape. A bow in back (like Madam's) would be much more practical and easy to deal with. I might hand it off to you tomorrow if I do make it to the craft store tonight.

    Thanks!

    You're quite welcome.

I can just move the flowers from the back to fill in up the sides and add the ties on. I got a good look at Madam's on Saturday, and it does make a lot more sense to do the three-quarters style for the wigs. I'm used to just setting the size permanently so I can drop it on my head and go, but that's over my own hair.
