Bellydance weekend photo
Woke this morning feeling rested and well. What a nice change!
I think this is my favorite photo of me at faire this year so far:
I'm embarassed to say I don't remember who took it. A man handed me the CD with this on it just after opening gate on Sunday. But for the life of me, I can't remember who it was--I don't even recall what he looked like. *hangs head in shame*
Tonight, yoga. Thank gods.
Today's the deadline for me to submit names for my guest list for the last weekend. If I don't already have your name and you want to go to RenFest this weekend, email me before noon!

Glad to hear you are feeling better, too!
(!I seem to have taken some sort of exclamation point supplement this morning!)

I actually have some pics of you at KCRF from nearly 10 years ago.

But the real question is... can you flip the sword without dropping it?
;)

Funny: before we knew we were staged at the Dell, the girls doing floorwork around me were supposed to be really close, and arrayed out around like a petal, with their heads very close to me on the inside. Everyone was willing to do it because even though the sword has been known to slip off my head, I always catch it before it falls to the ground. How cool is that? It's good to be trusted.
But then we got put at the Dell/Royal Glade and nobody wanted to roll around in the gravel. =D So I did nearly all the floor work since I was in the middle of the carpet.

I seriously considered making a second trip to KC for the Faire this year; I'll have to redouble my efforts for ME weekend next year.

The pattern is based on an old, out of print McCall's pattern, believe it or not, and beats the pants off Atira's ghawazee coat pattern. It has eight gored and princess seamed sections, so it can be fit very snug but flares beautifully from the hips. I've made it with no sleeves, short sleeves, bell sleeves, and long drapey sleeves--all from various other patterns.
If you're interested, I'm happy to trace you a copy of the pattern since it's been out of print for over ten years and I doubt you'll ever find a copy on eBay. Mine is a size 12, which is the closest to fitting me (36-30-40). You'd have to adjust to your own size, but it would be something to start with. $12 gets you the traced pattern, instructions, and copy of the envelope (shipping included).

You truly look luvverley in coppery colors. Much to my admittedly selfish delight, as we could finally find a color scheme in which to match up in time.
