Days of whine and sewing
That thing with my left shoulder hasn't gotten any better. In fact, I think it's worse after yoga last night. Rats. I've also got a bit of a sore throat when I swallow. Damn it!!! First sunny day we've had all week and what do I want to do? I want to curl up in bed with some lemon-honey tea and a heating pad. *sigh*
shrijani, I must run to Hancock Fabrics tonight right after work to get some elastic. It's not likely that I'll be later than 5:30. But if you arrive at my place earlier than 5:45 and I'm not home, just give me a minute. I'll be there momentarily. Promise.
cedarsong, do you want me to pick up anything while I'm there? I'm annoyed that I must make the trek when all I need is 2 feet of 3/4" white non-rolling elastic (all I have is black). Grrrr.
It was such a pleasure last night to be sewing something other than faire garb! After
cedarsong and
everflame left, I stayed up until 11:00 making flannel PJs. Bliss.
This weekend, though, little Elna is going to the shop for the annual tune up. I've decided to surrender the last two years of the ten-year Elna warranty and take it to Lawrence Vac & Sewing (not an authorized Elna dealership). I've had nothing but good experiences taking my White to him for service, and the past two years, Sew Easy in KC (where I bought the Elna) has been nothing but a nightmare. They changed their hours and the staff has become grumpy and snotty. I think they must've been bought or changed management. It's enough of a burden for me to shuttle the machine to and from KC during working business hours. I don't need bad attitude and poor service added to inconvenience.
Finally, I need to start saving the money for a good, high-quality serger. I spent twenty minutes trying to re-thread the serger kindly loaned to me by
solan_t, but I never did get it to work. It's the same trouble I always had with the Simplicity serger I owned years ago. Thread 4 (or 5?) won't stay threaded through the final three eyes. I never had this problem when I used
radcliffe's spiff sergers. I need to suck it up and save my pennies for a good Bernina or similar quality serger.
solan_t, this means you're welcome to pick up the serger anytime. =D
EDIT: All of a sudden, I don't like John McCain much at all anymore. This is like the politicians who make racist comments and then go "What? What? I only said it as a joke!" Not funny, Mr. McCain. Not funny at all.

Hopefully you are not getting what's trying to get me/has gotten me.

As for the McCain comments, I agree. I used to think he might be the last great hope of the GOP, but now he just looks like one of the badly-behaved teenagers in my classes, the ones who think nothing of screwing around in class and then saying, "My bad" when I call them on it. (Yes, it was, and no, that's not an apology - try again...)
Yes, I am one of *those* kind of teachers.....

Let me know a convenient time to pick the serger up. No hurry, though, unless you want the space back.

I don't really need the space back, but I figure you might want it back soon for holiday sewing.

Monday sounds good.

And sorry about the rethreading business. I have no idea how it came undone in the first place. I was going along fine, then suddenly bang none of the threads were looping. *sigh*

And ooh, the sun is out? What a relief... hope your shoulder improves.
