Bally bally bally

What in the world do you do with 2,000 friends? That's the new limit for paid and permanent users. Holy crap, lions.

I finished the muslin for a new dress this weekend. Again, a pattern I bought so long ago, it's discontinued. Pity, too, because it fit me really well. The only alteration I had to make was at the back neckline, where I nipped it in just a bit to keep it from gaping. I made the muslin (that's what we sewing types call a mock-up) out of a charming western novelty print (red of course) and black contrast strips for the front pleats and side tabs. The next one will be black linen with cotton flames fabric for the pleats and tabs. It's currently on the cutting table. Fancy baby!

Butterick patterns are on sale through today at Hancock's. I simply must add this to the pattern collection. I haven't been this enamored with a commercial pattern design for a long time. I think that will be a stellar way to use up some of these lightweight upholstery fabrics I've been hoarding.

Oh, hurray. My exercise ball from Gaiam just arrived. I tell you, I am never ordering anything from this company again. I've ordered from them three times and every time I've been disappointed with their customer service. And they're supposed to be one of the best for ordering yoga supplies? I can't imagine how. Or why. The yoga supply market must be pretty hard up for suppliers. Because Gaiam sucks. Their products are fine, but oh my god, getting them is a joke.

The irony is, now my ball has arrived and I'm not sure I have the energy to pump it up. Because, my darlings, once again: I'm sick. Last night I woke up feeling chilled (phenomenally rare for me), dehydrated, and with a very sore throat. I still feel pretty much the same right now. I'm guzzling the Emergen-C and hoping against hope that I'm back up to par by Saturday.

Take the ball to your local gas station and use the air pump, much easier!!!

While that is the most brilliant suggestion ever (it really is quite awesome), I don't think the inflated ball would fit in my car. But perhaps I could fit it up just halfway? Certainly worth considering. Thank you!!!

If you have 2000 friends you have bigger problems than a user limit.

Perfectly phrased. Yes.

Here's hoping you feel better soon.

D.

And how.

Sorry you are sick! Let me know if you need anything. Do you think a bicycle pump would work on pumping up your ball? If it would, I've got one and would pump it up for you.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-03-12 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I have a bicycle pump...that's what I'm using. I hope to get this damn thing pumped up today, though. My hip joints are dying from sitting in this wretched chair for a month.

Thank you for the offer, though. If I can't lift my arms tonight, maybe I'll call to ask you to come feed me. =D

Yeah, I also gasped when I saw the 2000 friend thing. I can't keep up with the ones I've got, and it's no way near that.

[identity profile] bestill.livejournal.com 2007-03-12 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, let me know, or if you need anything from the store.

Wouldn't be it fun to be able to eat soup or other liquids from a hookah? You could recline and use the tube thing like a straw?

Fancy baby!

That's what I was going to say! Flames fabric for the pleats is absolutely fancy baby.

That's an awesome pattern; I have some fabrics on my bulging fabric shelves that would be perfect for that. I think I will swing by Hancock's today, since I've not been in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG time. Then I can get some more patterns for my bulging patter shelf!

Post photos when you make it! I hope to get photos of my recent sewing sucesses soon.

I have a foot pump that came with mine.. wanna borrow?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-03-12 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Too late. It's done! Thank gods it's the right size. I was going to cry if I did all this work for nothing--twice.

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2007-03-12 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
oh goodie! How does it look? hee, picturing you on a big pink paisley ball is fun.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-03-12 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
It looks great!

It's tricky remembering how to navigate on one for hours at a time, though. My body only took a month to slip into lazy habits!

Man! I hope you are feeling better by the parade(sooner hopefully)! Any news whether you'll be on a real float yet? I know that Wal-Mart sells yoga supplies, but some don't like going there...

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-03-13 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure now that it's just (JUST!) allergies. No news about the float. We probably won't know for sure until we're standing on it and it's moving.
