Baby pork

We've all heard the expression "*ded* from teh cute" but this YouTube clip, found on Cuteoverload.com this morning, almost did me in. I gasped aloud from the overwhelming cuteness. Seriously. Gasped aloud. At my desk. It really is deadly, folks.

This morning I lugged my laptop to work so I could have an internet connection to load the software for my Zen (sorry, [livejournal.com profile] normalcyispasse, yours was the only nay vote). Everything went swimmingly until I realized that I neglected to bring a CD to work to try a download after the software install. Dang. So, anyone who hasn't left for campus yet, who feels like bringing me a CD, drop me a line, eh? Preferably music I might possibly like and wish to purchase, or even already own, since I'm hopelessly backwards in my views on piracy and music-sharing. I have too many friends in the music business to feel comfortable with that. Thanks in advance. Update: Thanks to non-LJ Emily for dropping off a couple CDs.

The "garment a day" goal is woefully failing. Tuesday night I got a hankering to cook, and yesterday after work I had to go to the doctor for a UTI. Bleh. But! Tonight! I finish the blouse, already! Sheesh.

Holy Cow! A grad student that I did rather go out of my way to help yesterday sent me flowers and chocolates. The flowers arrived yesterday (irises!) and the chocolates just now. I'm not usually a flowers-and-candy sort of girl, but I have to admit, this absolutely charmed me. And yes, I totally deserve them. I was extra special secretary yesterday. It's nice to be appreciated.

I have mp3s of music I'm sure you have that I can put online for you to download. Or, I can even e-mail a few.

Actually, someone just brought me a couple Prince CDs. Thanks, though!

I had to go to the doctor for a UTI.

Cranberry pills. Really. Lovely, no-pain-today pills.

Alas, I tried some (Cran-Aid, from The Merc) for two days and wasn't getting any better. =(

Unfortunately, I have such a shitty immune system that a lot of herbal and natural remedies just don't cut it for me a lot of the time.

Once you have one, you have to go to the doc, but they are GREAT for keeping it away once it is gone.
(I was scheduled for surgery due to repeated UTI's...)

I recommend the gel ones at Walmart. (I hate the place, but it is the only place I've found them.)

I'm very lucky I haven't had one in years. I think this came about from a number of factors, not the least of which was an already compromised immune system and dehydration from mucus production.

I know. Baby Pigs are Wonderful Things. Too bad they grow into such monstrous (and tasty!) creatures.

We need to have a sewing day together!

I want to eat that thing in your userpic right up! He's frosted with sugar! :D

So sorry to hear about the UTI thing. They always suck. I was happy to find that EmergenC has a version with Cranberry. When I manage to down one of those daily, I have very little trouble with such things, and I generally tend to stay healthier over all (1000 mg of C, B complexes to aid absorbtion of the C and then the 1000mg of cranberry)...and it also tastes pretty good.

I'll look into that. I try to keep Emergen-C on hand, anyway.

For me it's a great way to kill two birds with one stone, mostly because I absolutely abhor drinking cranberry juice (waaaay too tart for me). But the EmergenC is a really light flavor, and the cranberry covers up the heavy sort of medicinal Vitamin C flavor you can get with some of the other types.
