Food discovery: Yo-cheese with a dab of honey makes an excellent dip for Granny Smith apple slices.

Friend request: Does anyone have a CD-buffer or a CD scratch repair kit? My previous resource for that is no longer an option, and I've got two CDs rather in bad need of repair.

General suggestion: When organizing a computer workshop, have a checkbox for registrants that gives the options
  • I am a fucking moron
  • I am not a fucking moron
Divide the groups and run the workshops accordingly.

Workplace ethics: Do not blame your failure to plan appropriately on the false accusation that I gave you bad information.

Customer service: When someone calls to ask for an ETA on a job request, do not respond "Oh, that's not done yet?"

Any day above ground is a good day, but this one is really getting put to the test.

I think Hastings may do repair on CDs, I've seen a sign that they repair DVD's and I assume that works the same.

Ok, to get this out of the way: The idea of cheese with apples makes me want to vomit. I understand that it's probably very tastey. I understand that a lot of people like it, particularly cheese with apple pie. However, I like my pie with ice cream, if anything. This cheese buisness amkes no sense to me, in a similar fashion to chocolate with potato chips.
I needed you to know that.

Meanwhile, I have a CD repair/polisher thing. You're welcome to use it, if you share alcohol with me. Which means another gathering of Da Ladies.

    p.s. I am a fucking moron.

Well, yo-cheese isn't technically cheese. It's thick yogurt, with most of the whey drained out. Have you had labneh? It's basically labneh. So supah-creamy. Like a whipped cream cheese.

I would be THRILLED to have an alcohol for CD repair sharing session. \m/ >_< \m/ Thank you. I'll email you with available dates.

    oooOOOooooooo! well that's completely different.

And I'm out of town for some of next week and for three and a half weeks between the end of July and mid-August. And other dates as well.
    Stupid job.

The problem is, lots of people are too stupid to know they're morons.

Or are you assigning those with sufficient self-awareness to know that they're fucking morons to the more advanced class? Because that might work.

    [identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-06-19 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I'm not a fucking moron in this context, at least. I really wish I hadn't wasted my time in the class.

Have you tried the toothpaste trick with the CDs? It works just as well as the scratch remover polish. I then use a microfiber cloth to polish them.

Toothpaste. Really. *looks around nervously* Are you pulling my leg?

Nope. Plain ole white paste is the same sort of polishing paste that CD polish is made of.. cos basically you're just rubbing out the scratch so that it won't confuse the lens reading the disc.

I don't have a CD buffer but I bet the people upstairs at EGARC do. Jo(h)n is v. smart about those things.
